Balloons Up

You will need

  • balloons
  • a big enough area to play in

How to Play

The object of the game is to keep the balloon up for as long as possible, using only your head, chest, hips, knees - just not your hands or feet. Older kids you can play in heats of two and play-off until there is a winner. For younger kids play in smaller groups until everyone is out.

You will need

  • balloons
  • paper plates
  • rulers
  • sticky tape

How to Play

Make tennis racquets with the rulers and paper plates. This can be an activity for the kids to do - as well as decorating their own racquets.

The aim of the game is for two players to keep the balloon from touching the ground by hitting it back and forth with their racquets. The game is over when the balloon hits the floor. For older children, the next player plays the previous heat’s winner. Younger kids can all play together in a circle to avoid them getting restless whilst waiting for their turn.

Bursting Balloons

You will need

  • balloons
  • lollies/sweets (the wrapped kind might be best) or trinkets

How to play

Inflate balloons and then insert a lolly or treat inside before tying it off. Spread them around a room and allow kids to grab a balloon and sit, stand, squash it any way they can to pop it to get the treat from inside (keep in mind some kids may not like the popping of balloons).

Balloon Races

You will need

  • balloons

How to play

Get the kids to put a balloon between their knees and “waddle” as fast as they can to the finish line.
