Corrimal High School physical education teacher Kurt Majoor has pleaded guilty in court to having sex with two of his students on separate occasions four months apart.
Majoor, 26, was charged with a single count of sexual intercourse with a person under care in February this year after she claimed she had sex with him in sand dunes near Corrimal Beach before school on the morning of February 13 this year.
Police said Majoor groomed the girl by sending her sexually explicit messages and images of his penis via Facebook and Snapchat in a series of exchanges that took place in the two days before the sexual encounter.
The matter was reported to police 24 hours later and Majoor was arrested the following day at the East Corrimal home he shares with his parents.
He was refused bail in court and had the matter adjourned for six weeks for a brief of evidence to be served.
However, prosecutors revealed in April that a second student had come forward alleging inappropriate behaviour by the teacher.
The teen told police she had sex with Majoor in November last year, while she was enrolled at the school.
During a previous court appearance, Majoor's lawyer, William Whitby, indicated his client would fight the charge.
The key issue at trial was to be whether both teens had been under Majoor's "care", as stipulated by the legislation.
However, on Wednesday morning, Mr Whitby entered guilty pleas on behalf of his client to two counts of sexual intercourse with a person under authority.
Majoor appeared via video link from Silverwater jail during the brief proceedings.
The matter was adjourned to June 23 for a sentencing date to be set in Wollongong District Court.
