"Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is", said Yoda in Attack of the Clones. Now young, fertile minds can soon imagine their favourite Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters doing battle with the help of a new Lego range. A teaser of the toy sets has been released, due for sale in September.

Images of two sets revolving around new 'goodie' character Poe Dameron's craft, the X-Wing, and the classic, stingray-esque Millennium Falcon have been leaked.

While the spaceships are kind of old news – we've seen the X-Wing in one of the film's trailers and the Falcon has remained relatively unchanged for roughly 40 years (it made its debut in the first Star Wars film in 1977), the figurines are pretty awesome.

First up we have the X-Wing's crew; Dameron himself, a female X-Wing pilot, an alien ground crewman and an adorable mini robot – BB-8.

From the Millennium Falcon comes fan favourites Hans Solo and Chewbacca along with newcomers, Rey, perhaps a stand in for Princess Leia, Finn, a 'stomtrooper', Tasu Leech, rumoured to be played by Indonesian martial artist Yayan Ruhian and a nonspecific "Kanjiklub Gang Member".

The flick will premiere in December. Until then, come September, kids will be able to dream up their own Jakku-based fantasies with the help of some tiny plastic friends.
