Yellow and purple Wiggles Emma Watkins and Lachlan Gillespie have announced their separation just two years after they married.
In a statement, Watkins and Gillespie said that after six months of a trial separation, they had decided to officially end their romantic relationship.
"We have, and continue to share, the most beautiful life together, but we wanted to let you know that privately for the last six months we have been navigating through a trial separation, and we have made the decision to separate as a couple," their statement read.
"Throughout that period, we have performed hundreds of shows together and that is always a continued source of joy for us both. We have embraced this as a very positive change in our relationship.
"Our incredible friendship has been strengthened throughout this time and what we have discovered is that, more than ever, first and foremost we love and adore performing as Emma and Lachy in The Wiggles and having the privilege of celebrating this happiness with extraordinary families around the world."
Despite their marriage coming to an end, the pair confirmed they will maintain their professional relationship as part of kids' super-group, The Wiggles, and asked for privacy.
"We have chosen a different path to travel in our personal lives, but please know that we are stronger than ever and we can’t wait to see you at a show soon," they said. "We will not be commenting beyond this, and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy. Lots of love, Emma and Lachy xx."
Watkins and Gillespie were married at Hopewood House in Bowral in April 2016. As the pair noted in their statement, they've maintained a united presence up until now, sharing numerous pictures of each other on their social media accounts.
On Friday, both Watkins and Gillespie shared the news of their split on their individual Instagram accounts, with hundreds of fans responding with messages of support.
Earlier this year, Watkins was forced to pull out of a number of appearances with The Wiggles after her battle with stage four endometriosis worsened. She underwent surgery in April and made her return to the group in May, ahead of their June tour of the US and Canada.
