Family dinner planner: Week three
There are few things that parents hate thinking about more than what to cook for dinner. Essential Kids is doing the thinking for you with our weekly dinner planner. Simply print out the list and stick it to the fridge and next time a family member asks “What’s for dinner?” you can point them in the direction of the fridge. These are our dinner winners this week.
Lemon roast chicken: Add a little bit of zest to a traditional roast chicken and pair it with lemon. After coating your chicken and vegetables in oil and garlic, squeeze lemon over everything and add the halves to the pan while cooking.
Tasty chicken balls: Easy finger food that your children will love. Roll all the ingredients in a ball, fry until golden brown and bake until cooked through. This couldn’t be easier. Also, try adding more grated vegetables for extra nutrients, no one will even notice.
Buffalo mozzarella lasagna: Once you get the hang of layering lasagna, it will surely become your go to dish. Remember to layer the meat first, followed by cheese and pasta. Repeat until you reach the top of your dish and cover in warm béchamel sauce.

Lamb and Rosemary Pies: Fill your house with the smell of pie and pastry, and your bellies with this delicious meal idea. To save time buy diced lamb from the supermarket or butcher.
Beef stroganoff: Casseroles combine warmth with meaty goodness; the only problem is they take so long to cook. This recipe uses an eye fillet, as the tenderness reduces cooking time. It is sure to be a regular request.
Chicken and sweet corn soup: An enjoyable classic, especially on a cold evening. Puree the soup or leave chunky. Also, if time isn’t on your side, you can try substituting chicken fillet for shredded BBQ chicken.
Zucchini carbonara: A healthy twist on an old faithful dish, using zucchini instead of bacon. The heat of the pasta cooks the egg and cheese into a yummy creamy sauce.
