This beautifully themed first birthday party can be tweaked to suit any taste, gender and style but the exquisite décor and Tanya’s attention to detail make this birthday celebration one to remember.
Tanya Castellino, author of the blog, Life’s Little Celebrations chose a baby elephant theme for her daughter’s first birthday party. The theme was inspired by the elephant insignia on numerous gifts she received when her daughter was a newborn.
To start the party planning process Tanya tried to incorporate as many elephant themed ideas as she could, including such things as peanuts, elephant families walking together, memories, and watering holes. A colour scheme of pink, grey and aqua complimented these ideas perfectly.
For a twist on this idea she suggests adapting the theme to focus on a circus, carnival or jungle theme with an elephant feel.
Baby elephant printables were used to decorate the food tables and elephant paper chains were the backdrop. The cake was custom made to match the party décor and bunting was used to emphasise the colour scheme.
Other beautiful details included a memory book, where guests could record their favourite memory from Rebekah’s first year, as well as a photo board with a picture from each month of her life.
Guests received beautifully packaged cupcakes to take home and a copy of the Golden Book The Saggy Baggy Elephant for the kids.
