Never thought to talk about Hello Kitty and a burger in the same breath? Pretty soon the two will be synonymous when the Hello Kitty Diner opens next weekend (the 24th to 25th - we previously published it would be October 17 but the date has since changed).

Chef Warren Turnbull from Chur Burger will head up the kitchen which will serve all kinds of Asian fusion-style snacks and desserts in addition to the burger menu.

The ultra-cute kitty from Japan has long been popular with Australians and the diner has been in the works for quite some time now. A large scale Hello Kitty mascot will be at the door to greet patrons and for those all important photo opportunities. A range of Hello Kitty merchandise will also be available for purchase.

Diehard fans can turn up at the District, Chatswood Interchange this Saturday to be the first in the door, or attend the grand opening on November 1 with brand ambassador Tara from Tara Milk Tea blog. The grand opening is by special invite only.

Follow the Hello Kitty Diner Facebook page for any further updates as to opening date and really cute teaser photos.
