Hi All original.gif

Had my scan today which was exciting, however baby wasn't cooperating and it took 4 scan attempts and 4 hours to finally get all the measurements they needed! Nice to see bubs again as it felt like ages since my NT scan! Was really happy and releived everything seemed to be as it should be original.gif Decided not to find out the sex of the baby and leave it as a surprise!

Also felt baby kick for the first time yesterday, so it's been a nice week so far!

Hope you are all keeping well original.gif

Hi  waves.gif

Scan went well today, bub's was laying on it's face the whole time though so we didn't get any good pics. We're about 80% sure of the gender, but hoping to find out for sure at the 4D scan in a few weeks. Hopefully it behaves then!

Hi all

Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. I read every few days but find it hard to post.

Glad things are going well for most, and very exciting to hear about everyone's scans! Yay!

All ok here. I finally shook my awful cold. DH felt the baby move at 18.5 weeks, which was really surprising (it was moving like mad, so we tried on the off chance he could feel it!). We've a midwife appt tomorrow and our scan on Friday.
Even though I'm really torn, I think we're going to leave the gender a surprise (although I'm secretly hoping bub does a massive leg spread and it's really obvious wink.gif )

Hope everyone stays well. We're almost done with winter!

MrsPotatoHead, would you be able to change my DD's age to 1? She just celebrated her birthday original.gif Thank you - and thanks for doing such a great job keeping the list.

QUOTE (Bron1206 @ 31/07/2012, 01:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Mahna Mahna: So you are doing your prac this semester? That is very brave, I just finished my four weeks of continous prac and decided I was going to not do the prac units this semester as I was finding it a bit too much so am just doing theory units however at the moment I am trying to get my head around that! How on earth do you manage working PT, 2 kids and uni and being pregnant!!! I take my hat off to you. I am in Perth WA, go to ECU in Joondalup.

I am in Perth too Bron original.gif I am at Curtin.

Yeah I am doing my prac unit this semester but I am only doing a part time workload so I am doing my prac unit and the anatomy/physiology unit. I decided to do it this way so I would then do my 2 theory units in the first semester next year so I could have a relatively relaxed first 6 months with bub at home original.gif

It is a bit much, I struggle a bit on the busy weeks (like this week) but I just keep telling myself there are only 11 weeks to go and then I can have 4 months off followed by a fairly easy semester.

Are you planning on specialising in any area after your degree and doing some post grad work?

MrsPotatoHead - I just wanted to say that I think you are doing a fabulous job with the list original.gif It looks brilliant. Thank you.

Nursery - We have the same nursery that we have used for the previous two kids but the walls need repainting, luckily we still have plenty of the paint left!

We are moving DS into the room next to DDs which is at the far end of the hall and the baby will be in the nursery next to our room.

Stardusties - Great to hear your scan went well!

Thanks for doing such a wonderful job with the list mrspotatohead! It looks brilliant. So many babies due!

Well done to all those who've just had great scans!
how frustrating though Stardusties that bubs was doing a face plant the whole time!!

MahnaMahna Was it you who had a sore back as well? How are you feeling now? Hope it's eased for you.

Things have been a bit miserable here the past few days. Came down with an awful cold on Friday, and managed to struggle through work on Saturday. Then on Sunday I was simply putting my hair up in a pony tail (to avoid the boy and girl at church who I know have lice at the moment!!) when I looked down to get my elastic, and felt my whole neck seize up. It's called Torticollis, or Wry Neck, and I've done it a few times in the past. You're basically paralysed with pain and muscle spasms, as the joints lock up to protect the neck. Anyway - talk about excruciating pain, and was unable to hold my head up at all. Hubby helped me to lie down, amid gasps for breath through the pain, and I was in bed for pretty much all of Sunday. And a bit of Monday. And finally got an appointment with my Osteopath of Tuesday afternoon. I can at least slowly turn my head today, and am starting to feel normal! What a hassle!

At least on Tuesday night I think I felt some definite movement from Possum! YAY! And it was during a re-run of Top Gear, so it must be a boy!
Our scan is next week Friday - so exciting!

All the best ladies!

Hello....can I join this thread?
I'm due on the 24th of December 2012, and this is one precious baby....you see we conceived after 4years of trying....IVF was how we got here in the end..Exciting ,and nervous times ahead.
Well I'm 19 weeks now and, have had my ultrasounds, they were fantastic...it's a boy ...which is really lovely.
I'm massive already, as it is my second baby, I know how hard it will be to shift this weight...but it is what it is...
Talk soonizzy x

Greenapples- OUCH! I was wincing in sympathy the whole time you were explaining that! You poor thing. I already feel immobilized by my fatigue, I can't imagine what it would be like with being in actual pain! Hope you're back to normal soon.

KiwiMel- I'm thinking a space theme, though we won't be in this house long enough to implement it really. We're very tentatively looking at building... Really, I can't be bothered :/

IzyBee- Welcome original.gif congratulations on your little boy! I was conceived via IVF, and I'm always excited to see it original.gif

AFM- I had my 'early bird' class at the hospital yesterday. 4 hours! I was absolutely buggered by the time I came home! It makes me wonder how you super mums are doing it with uni and other kids! It was fairly boring for the most part, I sent DF home. It was all about nutrition and blah blah. I want to get down to the nitty gritty birth stuff, but she said she didn't want to scare us away Tounge1.gif

Babysitting a 19 month old tomorrow night. If I don't post ever again, I've died. It was nice knowing you all.

Hello ladies and welcome Izy Bee, our is an IVF baby too :-)

Anyway.... 19 week scan today and we're having a  bbluestork.gif

He looks absolutely adorable and everything looks to be in good working order.  I was so nervous about the morphology more than finding out the gender....

Hope everyone is well.

It's all still sinking in and feelin much more real today.  I have both the normal and reconstructed US images of bubba and they are all so cute!

Hi there everyone!  I have been reading this thread since the beginning but haven't joined until now.  Intitially it was because I wanted to wait until after the first 12 weeks, and then I just haven't sat down in front of the computer to sign up until now (I read the forum on my iphone).

I am due 13th December with our first child and we found out at the 20 week scan last week that we're having a baby girl!!  I would have been happy with either a boy or a girl, but I was secretly hoping for a girl so I am beyond excited.

It's been really lovely reading how everyone is getting along, so hopefully I'll be a little more involved from now on.

Hi Mummas,
I am still here and alive, although only just!!

Have had a pretty nasty virus and spent most of last week in bed delirious OR at the hospital with/looking after DD as she had to have a minor op on her eye at the RCH. Being sick had come on over a couple of weeks and I just ignored it instead of taking it easy, which only exacerbated the problem. I am on antibiotics and have managed to avoid fetal monitoring (hosp stay) which is good.

Yay for those who have had great scans and boo for those who are sick. I admire those of you who are keeping the sex of their babies a surprise, i couldnt do it!

Izy Bee- Welcome! What a long road you have travelled to fall pregnant again. I admire the courage it would have taken you to persist for so long in such trying times.

KatieJess- Welcome to you too!

waves.gif to everyone else. Not much time for personals, sorry.

AFM- Tomorrow I will hit 23 weeks preggers with the twins and all seems to be going well. Scan was good and everything is where it should be. I have trouble at nights carrying DD which is to be expected but Daddy-Pig is really good at helping out so I am lucky in that instance.

And we are having a bbluestork.gif and a ppinkstork.gif !!!! Very excited to give Daddy-Pig a boy seeing as I am going to put a permanent bollard between my legs once these little tackers are born!

I have gone through the most insane growth spurt over the past couple of weeks. Right now at 5 months I am measuring 83cm stomach circumference and weigh 70kg's. These happen to be the EXACT same stats as when I was pregnant with DD at 6 months! Tic and Tac have their moments of jabbing and rolling and other times just like to lay back and enjoy the ride.

Had my GTT for Gestational Diabetes the other day (fun) and have to have another one at 28 weeks due to increased risk for GD with twins. I havent got a call back about results so will assume everything is fine. Now having 3 weekly hosp visits and have scans booked for 28, 32 and 36 weeks (if I make it). There is soooo much more to do when you are carrying two!

Anyhoo, hopefully it wont be too long between EB drinks next time!

Hi all,

Welcome Izy Bee and KatieJess.

Izy Bee I conceived my little one via IVF as well so I understand how hard it is too.

congrats on it being a boy and a girl!!  Carrying twins must be so much harder but it sounds like you're doing really well!

Porkchops mama congrats on the little blue bundle!!

Nothing much to report for me, the little one has it's moments of kicking away and then going really quiet for a few days which can scare me a bit but then it dances on my bladder just to remind me it's still there.  I have moments where I have just been to the toilet and then all of a sudden I get the urge to go again so much so I can't walk but then it passes....little one is already playing games with me.  I'm sure it's laying in there laughing at me biggrin.gif

Welcome Izy Bee & KatieJess and congratulations on your little blue and pink babies.

greenapples ouch you poor thing, I'm glad you are ending your week with the excitement of your scan.

porkchop's mama yay for expecting a little boy, little boys are lovely.

gisses one of each you lucky thing! Fingers crossed that you don't have to worry about GD at all.

I am quite disappointed that I can't consume as much coffee as I require to function today, we converted H & O's cots in to toddler beds on suday and after a brilliant first and second night they have stopped sleeping through and last night everyone was in our bed from 1-4am queen sized beds aren't built for 5.5 people to sleep comfortably.  yyawn.gif

#18 Stardusties

Hello again original.gif

Izy Bee & KatieJess Welcome and congrats!

porkchop's mama Yay for a blue one! It's so much better knowing then calling bubs 'it' or 'baby' all the time.

gisses How exciting that you get one of each. Good luck with your next GD test, those are yukky.

MrsPotatoHead I'm hearing ya on the lack of coffee intake. I find I can't drink it made at home so I must drive to my local cafe if I want one which is altogether too much effort. Usually I won't bother at all, but some days it gets to you. Hopefully your boys settle into their new beds soon and start sleeping through again.

AFM Everything turned out okay with the heart monitor so Doc has given me the all clear to go back to work on a trial basis. The catch is that I'm not allowed to stand for more then an hour without at least a five minute break where I can sit down. I'll essentially be closing my checkout every hour to go out the back and sit. They've flat out refused to give me a stool or chair on my register (space and safety reasons) so I'll end up spending more time on breaks between the five minute ones every hour, my ten minute one they're required to give me and toilet breaks in between. I can't see it happening for the next fifteen weeks to be honest, so we'll see how it goes.

OMG greenapples, that sounds horribly painful sad.gif do you have to get regular treatment now to maintain it?

Yes I had the sore back after a car accident where I was rear ended a couple of months ago. It is still bad unfortunately as is my whiplash sad.gif apparently the looser muscles due to being pregnant are making it more difficult to heal. I also have SPD so that is making things worse too.

Gisses - Yay to the boy and girl! Had to giggle at your bollard comment though laughing2.gif

Mcchickies - oh no in hospital you poor girls.

Seems like quite a few of us have been in the wars lately due to all the ways that being preggo changes your body! I hope everyone feeling a bit down is gets better soon.

So Now that I now that I am having a boy, I want to start buying some clothes. I know there isnt really any point buy too much but does anyone have any reccs for onesies or some cool baby clothes stores that I can buy online?

We dont really have many baby clothes stores where I live...

Hi IzyBee! Glad you are finally here in the DIG and we have the same EDD! I calculated it as 22nd but Dr has it as 24th.
Hi KatieJess original.gif

Gisses!! A boy and a girl wow! If I was going to have twins that's what I would want.

Almost all of us are halfway now, so awesome!

So with 100+ of us in here, we're going to get the 1 in 100 statistics. I'll put my hand up for SUA. I had my 19 week ultrasound yesterday and I have a single umbilical artery (or two vessel cord they call it in US). Apparently the cord is meant to have one vein and 2 arteries and I only have one artery. It can be associated with kidney, heart or nervous system problems but only if they find something on the scan. She said my baby is 100% perfect, the kidneys and heart have the correct bloodflow, so essentially it is irrelevant. I did have a little panic and did some googling but anyone with problems found out at the scan. It does say though that my baby might be small and might arrive a few weeks early, which might be OK after a 40+6, 8lbs 12oz baby last time.

I feel like she is a little more fragile now but she moves a lot so that gives me confidence. And they said 100% girl.

KiwiMelW I'm not to sure of online baby stores, I like to shop around for bargains on SookiBaby, Milky, Run Scottie Run um . . . . can't think of others right now. But most of the places that stock these online have loads of cute boy things. Also best and less is good for boy clothes, but I guess it depends on what you like.

Also there are a few tutorials floating around on pinterest on how to make onesies out of T shirts and how to print on to plain onesies ($5 for 2 at kmart etc) if you are in to making things. original.gif

mcchickies Sorry you have been in hospital lately. Your girls must be excited about receiving a little brother. biggrin.gif

Stardusties, don't let them make you feel guilty about needing your breaks. You are legally entitled to this and if it doesn't suit them they can find you alternate duties that you don't have to stand as much. Does your store or one close by have self-checkouts? There is no reason why you can't have a chair at these to sit when it is quieter.
