Gold Coast - which suburbs?

Are there any nice family areas to live on the Gold Coast?
Budget (to buy) - Mid $500ks.
- good schools (mid range private school would be okay - for girls)
- nice areas to walk, playgrounds, etc
- short drive to the beach
Not a fan of big estates - (think North Lakes, Springfied type areas).
Am a bit concerned with the drug/crime culture of some areas of the coast. And I hate to use this word, but is there anywhere away from some of the 'bogan' culture you see around there - the trashy girls, hotted up cars, etc or is that inevitable if living on the coast? I'm totally not meaning to offend gold coasters - I actually love the place, but just not that element.

Mudgeeraba, Tallai & Worongary are all nice areas. Houses in your price range & they all suburbs are around 15ks to Broadbeach & surrounding beaches. I cannot tell you about private girls schools sorry. Plenty of options in regards to shopping & the most crime free places I know of.Good luck with your decision.

Maybe Ashmore would fit for you?
There is only one girls school on the coast, St Hildas. I know many people who went there who have decided to send their girls to other schools.
Where will you be working?

I like Southport, there's a private girls school there.

St Hilda's is the only girls school and it is a GPS school which definitely means it's not mid range.

Not thinking of moving at the moment, something of a 'pack up and escape to the beach' fantasy.
Just kind of mentally speculating on if it's something we could *really* consider in the future.
I don't have a preference for all girls schools, or even necessarily private, was just saying it was an option (and that boys schools weren't).
