Hi I have been slack and not posted in awhile.  Lovely to read everyone's been having their scans and exciting times for those finding out the sex!

We had our scan a week ago and all appears well.  We opted to keep the sex a surprise as DS5 has insisted on a new brother and I am worried he will be terribly upset for the next few months if he knew it was a girl!!  Least when the baby comes even if it is a girl the excitement of having a new baby in the house should help him get over it!  fx original.gif. I am still dying to know though and have been studying the CD with all the scan images and am even considering cheating and buying a kit online, pathetic I know!  It's like snooping to find where mum hid the Christmas presents, which of course is half the fun.

Have my first OB and mw app on Friday at the hospital.  Will be good to get checked out as I have been pretty slack going to the GP.  Might get a shock when I get weighed as I have been eating for a small army of late and there is no scales in this house!

Wow ...baby population explosion...cant believe all the mummas on here...all is great here, QLD is warm and sunny, so I am hoping there will be some more maternity shorts in the shops soon..As for the bub...well he apparently loves vegimite sambos, when I eat them he goes nuts kicking....weird but true.

Other than that he seems to kick for about 2 hours every night around midnight, I hope this isnt a sign of things to come...he aims right for the bladder biggrin.gif

I have hired back my personal trainer, who i used last year to loose 20kgs, she will start with me again in September, to keep some sort of fitness unitl the birth, then whip me back into shape, after the birth...I am looking forward to being back in shorts that arent to my knees. She is also good for a gossip session, and since she has 3 kids, she doesnt have unrealistic expectations for getting back into shape original.gif

Hope all are coping with all the aches and pains....and getting all that baby shopping done xxxoo

Just a brief update. Seeing a perinatologist this thurs to get expert advice on the low amniotic fluid situation. Taking one day at a time at present.

Had some bright news today. Bubs flipped 180 degrees and faced forward for the first time in two weeks. Because the fluids low bubs hasnt really been able to move much at all - its literally a straight jacket in there. Must be a gymnast in the making to have achieved that. It took one hour to do it, and it felt like menstrual cramping - wondered what was going on, and bcecause of scan this morning, now i know.

Anyway, now that its facing the right way this morning we found out that...it's a girl original.gif . I was not so secretly hoping for a girl!

Over the moon about that - but not out of the woods yet because of fluid levels...fingers crossed.

MrsPotatoHead - can you please update my due date to be 24th Dec and a girl. Thanks

Hi everyone  original.gif

Thought I would pop on quickly and say hi, I took a 'mental health day' from work today  biggrin.gif

Seems the new thing to start around here is reflux - ugh! Off to the docs this afternoon to confirm or deny. There goes my cheese obsession......

Feeling a bit like a blimp, could sleep for days and i'm eating everything in sight  cool.gif

Nothing interesting to report, although we're going to paint the nursery in a week or so (yay!)
I now know 11ppl due within a 9wk timeframe! Don't think there was much on tv that month  blink.gif  blush.gif

Mrs Potatohead can you change our Edd to the 22nd? Pleeeeeease!

Hope everyone is well

Jlhb Yay for a girl, and for the big back flip by bubs! I'm thinking of you, and hope all goes well with the perinatologist. Let us know how it goes.

Shamoo We are going to start painting our nursery soon too. Have you decided upon a colour? Once it's painted, it will be lovely to start 'prettying' it up. original.gif

All is well here, well, apart from my local hospital stopping births at the end of October. sad.gif *big cry* We went to see the next nearest hospital on Sunday (50 min drive away,) and are booking in there.

Other than that, we are now 20 weeks and 4 days, and the little possum is kicking and moving a lot. Every time I can feel it on the outside though, hubby isn't around to feel it too! So he is desperate to feel the first kick.
We had our scan last week and everything is great and normal so it seems. We managed to get all the measurements, even though bubs was busy lying on their back, feet crossed and arms up behind the head!! Nice and relaxed!
Am busy sewing and making items for the nursery. Oh, such fun! biggrin.gif

All the best to everyone!

jhlb - YAY!!!!  COngrats on finding out bub is a girl!  All the best for your perinatologist appointment.

Mrs Potatohead - excellent work on the list!  Thanks so much.

Shamoo - it's funny how that works, we've got a cluster of bubs in our circle of friends due within months as well.

AFM
Saw Obs today.

Bub is doing well.  Heart rate 140s today.

I'm a bit low in Vitamin D so will need ostelin.  How can that happen in Australia?  I blame winter.  My BP has gone up from my baseline but Obs isn't stressed at all so I won't be either.  I thought your BP was meant to go down in the second tri!  But I'm otherwise well, no oedema or anything.

I'm all clear to fly in 3 weeks.

Hope everyone is well.

Winter and the fact most of us work indoors during sunlight hours.

Word of warning ladies baked beans for breakfast is a risk. Pregnancy farts stink! I ate a little tin this morning and I've been gassing myself all day! ph34r.gif

Does anyone else play music to bubba? Mine dances away when I play music, I feel him moving around. It's reassuring especially if he's being a little quiet, I play music and he taps me. Reassures me he's ok.

See the OB again on the 20th, unsure of he will scan me, hope he does, would
I,e to see the little guy.

We're putting an offer on a house around d the corner from ours, much bigger that ours at the moment with a yard. Fingers crossed. If it is a go it will mean I can finally start nesting.

Hi Again lovely ladies

I am a regular lurker in the group still, just feeling a lil quiet these days. Very unlike me, usually I am the most sociable person out there.

Starting to feel more movement from the lil man now, which is nice, was not enjoying not having much movement at all... but seems like he now likes to make his presence known.

Belly rubs to you all, will be back later for some personals... I also have really bad baby brains at the moment, and am failing to remember stuff... pretty annoying, as I am also usually pretty cluey. sad.gif

Hi Ladies,

I have been reading here for a while and a bit shy in joining, but decided to do it! I am due 7th December (24weeks this fri) with first bubs (MC in Dec 11), and I am 37yrs young.

I am a step mum of a 6yr old girl who keeps me on my toes, we have her 50/50, so 7 days a fortnight. I really enjoy it.

I live south of sydney in Wollongong, are there any other women on here from around the same area? I moved here in Oct 11 after 15years living in sydney, I am struggling with having friends close by, I would love to make some friends, especially to expecting kind!

I realised yesterday we have left it a bit late to enroll in Antenatal classes, theyre all full to about a fortnight before I am due, oops! Hopefully the hospital is creating a new classes for about 6 weeks before as it looks like there are a group of us in the same boat.

I have been going stupid with clothes and things for our little one, our spare room is getting fuller every day, I cant help it!

I look forward to hearing from you all,

Porkchop - I  have low vit D, despite living on a farm and being outside every day feeding animals etc. My Dr said some people just don't store it as well as others. So have been taking supps from the beginning.

Week away in Perth was great, weather much warmer than Vic, and my Mum was in good spirits despite the broken elbow. Went down to Busselton for the weekend and did some touristy stuff (mostly involving food - yay for Margaret River Chocolate Co!). DS was good on the plane and Jetstar were awesome, left a spare seat next to me on both flights so I had more room for DS.
Had a Dr appointment this morning but when I got there she was at the hospital delivering a baby, as she was already an hour and a half behind in appointments I decided to go back next week rather than wait, nothing urgent anyway.
Hope everyone is well, and babies are being good (esp Jhb)

Birdieb444 - I'm from the Wollongong area (actually I'm from Sydney originally too and have struggled to make friends down here!)

JLHB -good luck for the perinatologist appt tomorrow - fingers crossed fluid volume has improved for you!.

AFM - had a growth scan today. Fluid levels are looking fine for me now after being low 4 weeks ago, still below average, but well within the normal range. Bub is VERY small though - still under the 5th percentile. the sonographer was quite concerned but I actually get the feeling my OB won't have an issue since bub hasn't gone backwards at all since the last scan. Get another scan in 4 weeks so that will give me more of an idea if they are going to pull bub out at 28 weeks or will wait a bit longer (fingers crossed). Scary though - my son was 4.6kgs and this one is looking to be approx half that or less if it makes it to full term.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Will have my perinatoligst appt this afternoon. Ive ben talking to my little girl in the meantime telling her she has to pull her socks up and start producing fluid!

Cletus - great news about your fluid levels. Thats a relief. Why do they suspect bubs is small? 2

Hope the appointment goes well Jlhb, and you get a plan of action in order to increase the fluid x

Hi ladies

MrsPotatoHead – awesome job on the list once again!  biggrin.gif

Loving all the stories of scans and kicking. So nice! Hope that all of those with health/medical issues find relief and good news very soon.

Not sure who mentioned meditation? Might have even been in the previous thread… But I just did the calmbirth course last weekend and it covers lots of breathing, relaxation and visualisation techniques. I left there feeling so confident and positive and highly recommend it to anyone – not just those into meditation.

AFM, all is going great at the moment. Lots of movement. And a constant desire for anything dairy! Oh yes, and oranges!

Pssst... Me too!!!  I've been eating at least 2 oranges a day plus a glass or OJ every day.  Heaps of dairy too - cheese, youghurt as well as my egg every morning.

Perhaps our cravings really are our bodies telling us what we need?

Glad Calmbirth was a good experience for you.  Haven't signed up for it yet.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for your messages most recently Bel, Cletus, Frogcal and Leafprincess - and of course everyone who posted prior. Appreciate your care and support.

Well, just had my appointment and i am so relieved. The Royal North Shore evaluate fluid levels differently to my hospital, and the guru said its all fine, there is nothing to worry about, and even though its on the lower end thats still ok.

So...life's back to normal. Back to work, back to exercise! Yay!

Bubs had her hands covering her face must have been thinking - 'Mum leave me alone I'm fine!' Also got to see her eye lenses looking around (even though lids are shut) - amazing...

Hope all is well with everyone - lots of belly cuddles.

Hi PC - I coulndt get enough oranges - maxed out at 6 a day and 1 litre of OJ. Everyone said it would be a boy because i craved oranges and i have a little girl~! I know what you mean about the orange cravings - you cant resist the temptation and they are so delicious! Im down to one a day now but still love and OJ.
