Going to Singapore next month for a very short break to join DH... wondering if anyone has any tips on must visit shops ?
especially for kids clothes? I have been before but never kids shopping, so I know about the fabulous centres etc and will take DS to the zoo as I loved my previous visit, as I didn't have children I must say i never noticed any shops in particular?
I will visit Chinatown one day, and would like to minimize time traipsing around from one end to the other given its only a day or two I have to shop child-free as the other time we will visit friends, enjoy the pool and chill out , I like to plan my attack of retail therapy to get the most benefit from little effort!
Thanks in advance,

I'll be watching. My girl friend and I are going for only two days on our way to Phuket for a few days!!
We'll be doing Christmas shopping and being husband and kid free will be amazing! I've never been, my girl friend has so I'm relying on her to plan
I just found this website

Orchard Rd was high end label stores, and the Marina was as well, but the Japanese department store was fantastic as was the shopping mall opposite Raffles, I think it's being the Fullerton hotel now...Chinatown was great as a market shop.... Little India well... It's all Indian type shops, great for fabrics...that's all I remember

Go to Vivo City (which is a shopping centre). You can get there on the train easily as there is a train station in the bottom of the shopping centre). They have a lovely outdoor kids play area, and a ring of kids shops around it. Vivo City is also MASSIVE and has many adult stores as well.
ETA - that was just for kids stuff. For more general shopping, if you're getting a day to yourself, just go to Orchard rd.

H&M on orchard rd have awesome kids clothes adults too & are well priced. I was there a few weeks ago & got 2 tshirts 1pair shorts 2 singlet tops 2 dresses 2 skirts for $80Singapore about $60AUD for my DD14 (She wishes we had H&M here)
The Mustafa Centre in Little India is good too really cute little kids stuff but not as fashionable for older children
For the PP who mentioned Phuket Jungceylon on Bangala Rd patong is great for shopping especially the basement

Another vote for Orchard RD and the Mustafa Shopping Centre.
And if you can get to the Marina Bay Sands complex, awesome!

There are a few shopping centers that are paticularly "kid oriented," in terms of shops, including:
Tanglin Mall (a nice stroll from Orchard MRT/train station:
The Forum (just off of Orchard Road, a 5 minute walk up the street from Tanglin Mall):
United Square on Thomson Road (super easy peasy MRT train ride from Orchard Road).
On Orchard, there is also the aforementioned H&M. Also check out the big kids' section at Takashimaya, the Japanese department store (brands from all over the world) at Nyee Ann City on Orchard Road. Can't miss it.
For less expensive shopping, Mustafa Centre in Little India is my absolute favorite! Be sure to hit every floor!
The MRT is a very cheap & efficient way to get around, as are taxis.

vivo city is by far the biggest and best of the shopping centres. there is a gymbaroo type place as you are walking thru to vivo city from the train (2nd floor from memory) which let u play there for an hour or so.
depending on your kids age the Marina Sands complex has an indoor playgym on thethird level which was great as playing outside was too hot.
