Did anyone see this show last week? I downloaded it from iTunes during the week and loved it!! It features an all indigenous cast and the storyline kept me glued to the screen.

It's on again tonight on ABC 1  at 8.30pm if anyone is interested and I think Debra Mailman will be featured in an episode soon (not sure if that is tonight's episode or not).

I loved it last week I felt so much for the mum who had to cancel her Bali trip and those poor kids. I am trying to watch it now but DD15 is doing her homework and won't shut up and when you have teenagers you have to talk when you can wink.gif

If there is an Aussie show about pretty much anything, it's guaranteed that Debra Mailman will end up in it at some point.

Yes, I watched it. I love Leah Purcell  blush.gif.

I'd be watching it now if I didn't have an assignment to do.

It's great to see these stories told on ABC rather than SBS. Now... when is one of the commercial networks going to grow a pair and a drama or comedy about/by Aboriginal people? And Ernie Dingo on The Great Outdoors doesn't count.

Leah Purcell was great wasn't she! I agree, there should be more of it on commercial television.

Watching everyone reject the kids broke my heart.

Know what you mean about teenagers. Ours grew so fast, where did that time go!

Loved loved loved it. There is so much good Aussie drama on ATM. I wish The Circuit would come back as well.

I watched this tonight by accident (couldn't handle watching BATG). Thought it was great - well written and beautifully shot. Will be catching up during the week on the rest of the series.

I'm so impressed with this series. Each story is so intriguing; heartbreaking yet hopeful.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm always working online on Thursday nights so have to download it. The characters from the past two weeks remind me of some of my family members - the character Leah Purcell played in the first week was so like my auntie, and she even looks like mine did when she was younger.

That grandmother last week had me in stitches - so politically incorrect, yet so real! Absolutely love this series.

Loved the first two episodes but the third made me angry because there was no indication that the family saw they had done the wrong thing at all. I guess the fact that the program provoked this sort of response shows that it is a great show.

I agree, not once did I feel they thought they were to blame. nNd it had an appalling ending

I thought Deborah Mailman's character admitted they had done the wrong thing? Wasn't she telling her husband they had to just suck it up and pay it back? I guess the theme to that ep was to show that it's easy to get caught up in welfare cheating and hard to rectify it.

Could she not have gotten a job?

I did not like last nights, it was like a story that could have been told in 5 mins.

Yeah I watched it (as in, I wasn't surfing the net on my ipad at the same time) and I really loved it. I'll be watching next time.

Interesting article on Mundine's reaction to the plot though:

He is, um, an interesting character, isn't he...

I really enjoyed the first episode of the series.

Honest, emotional and great acting.

I plan to watch the series, hopefully the next episode is just as good!
