I can't believe it is 8 wks to go today!  A little bit scary - but we're mostly organised.  Only a few things left - baby monitor, car sun shade, washable wipes and pick up stuff for my hospital bag.

Going to the CalmBirth course this weekend - looking forward to it original.gif

I'm having my little girl in January 10.

I've been married to by hubby for 2 years. We're both super excited but nervous at the same time. I'm not that organised lol so we have only got a cot, chest of drawers and change table from my mum. We're having a baby shower in two weeks so I'm planning on waiting till after the shower before we buy any more things. I'm sure my relatives have everything in order to buy me. I'm an only child and only grand child so my family are super excited.

I'm looking to meet other mothers who live in the East of Sydney so we can chat and meet up after the baby is born so email me.

6 weeks left of work and i'm couting them down pretty intencly. Loving the idea of having 12 months off with my little one! I can't wait to meet her.

Hi ladies, just thought I'd run an idea past you all. In my last DIG, we organised SMS buddies for our baby news. Each person had 2 buddies (to minimise chance of all being in labour at the same time) and they would SMS the news of their little ones arrival to them so they could post it on EB/Facebook to keep everyone in the loop until they had the chance to come in and tell everyone the full details. Understandably its fairly hectic in the beginning! Also helped keep us all in touch as some had complications/hospitalisation in the end. So was wondering if you all thought this would be a good idea or if we are all so attached to our smart phones these days they we can post the news ourselves? I'm happy to organise it for everyone that wants to participate if there is any interest?

Hi ladies,
I have been lurking for awhile but thought it was time to join in the fun at almost the eleventh hour.
I am due on 27/1 with my second bub - a little girl.
Our first girl was born on 5/12/10 so they will be 2 years and 2 months apart if bub arrives on time.
I live in Canberra and will be giving birth at Calvary - tried desperately to get into the birth centre but no luck sad.gif
Hope everyone is feeling well!

Hi all
Another long term lurker but new poster... I am due 8 jan and also in canberra, going through the birth centre. It's my 2nd bub, older boy was feb 2010. No idea if this one is a boy or a girl. We're starting to get organised but I have ages to go at work. Have just decided to exit the woodwork at last!

Hi spitzmum - can you update my edd from 29 Jan to 28 Jan? We moved by one whole day! Lol...this is our first bub... We are leaving the sex as a surprise. Thanks!

Right, going to try and keep up with this new thread.

Hi and welcom Book, Plappermaul and mumtosophia!

*ShirleyTemple* -
I like the idea of a buddy, my last DIG had that system too! Though I only do EB not FB.

spitzmum - How was your CalmBirth course? I would have loved something like that, unfortunately nothing like that in this hick town.

Hi everyone else waves.gif .

AFM - Man am I tired at the moment. Sleeping is impossible, running around after a toddler while DP is away for 2 weeks, trying to get ready to move and 3 1000km round trips to see various drs in the past 3 weeks has really worn me out.

I can't wait til we move into our new place so that I can finally start getting orgainised for the twins.

Have another growth scan on Thursday so will hopefully find out if the big twin is going to come first so I still can hold out hope for my VBAC.

Hi all.

Spitzmum on the EDD's it says I am having a girl. But I have no idea what I am having Tounge1.gif

Maybe this is a sign!! Just wanted to clarify.

I am 30 weeks!! yay. And I am actually surprised how comfortable I am. I am always complaining on facebook but thats just on my bad days. Most of the time I forget I am pregnant and bump into things with my belly. Bending over and rolling in bed is impossible. But I am not sore, and I spend hours and hours on my feet. I am just waiting for it to hit me.

4 more weeks of work!! I am looking forward to maternity leave now. PPL and Family Tax Benefit B have been conditionally approved, so that means I will have some money. My DH have just started building, so we are on a huge budget now. No more spending for me, and I think that is going to come as a huge shock as I am so used to spending my own money. I will hate having to ask DH for money for petrol! But its all for a good cause. we hate renting and will be good to be living in our own home when bub becomes a crawling/walking pumpkin smearing cyclone Tounge1.gif.

I think this pregnancy is going SO slow! 10 weeks to me feels like AGES.

Bugger to all those with GD. only a few more weeks until bub is in your arms and it is all worth it.

Welcome to all the new comers. Congrats on your pregnancies.

Just a quick question. I can't remember if I have already asked. But I am a bit of an over sharer and was thinking of opening up a new thread for our labour stories when they start happening. Is anyone else willing to share their stories on EB. I thought if it was a new thread we could choose whether we read it or not.

Hi ladies - normally get lost in this thread lol, bit easier as only on 2nd page so far original.gif

I had calmbirth course this weekend too - was great, think partner originally went along cause i wanted to go, but he got heaps out of it too - so much more relaxed and confident about  the birth now.

Noticed a few ladies from canberra jumping on board, as well as a few on the due date post- I am in Canberra too, and wondering if anyone wants to organise a catch up before bubs come along? I am in the gungahlin area.

Oh and meant to mention that i think a birth story thread is a lovely idea - no idea how much i will be sharing yet - will cross that bridge when come to it i guess original.gif

Hi all and welcome to all of the new ladies!!  I'm still hanging around, reading most days, but not getting much chance to post between my 2.5 year old DS, work, family stuff and trying to get organised for this little one!

31 weeks today!!  I had a minor freak out this morning when I realised that DS has come down with hand foot and mouth AGAIN! But my obs confirmed that I don't have anything to worry about, so that was a relief.  Had a scan last Thursday, this little one is measuring a week ahead and still has a massive head (like DS1) so there goes my hope of sneezing during labour and him popping out!

I hope everyone's aches and pains aren't getting too bad and my sympathies to those with GD.  Home stretch now, so hopefully not too much longer to put up with everything!!

Xx

Hi everyone! waves.gif

I'm around too, just reading mostly on my phone so it's a bit harder to reply. I can't believe we're all hitting the 30 week mark, I feel like this pregnancy has just flown!

Getting quite achy and tired now, looking forward to finishing up work at the end of the year. I'm working right up until Christmas, but I guess that's only 6 weeks away huh! Can't wait to get back to being a full time stay at home mummy, although I am a little worried about how we'll cope on less money...

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hi and welcome to all the new ladies original.gif

Spitzmum and Ritten glad you enjoyed the calmbirth course I would love to do it but haven't found one that is close to me might buy the book and have a read.

Ellamaree congrats on the house how exciting original.gif I think the birth stories thread sounds great although don't know how long after the birth I would actually get around to posting

can't believe I am nearly at 33 weeks now ohmy.gif feels like its actually happening although I still can't imagine that we will actually have a baby at the end I keep thinking that they wont actually let me keep the baby lol.

1 week left of work for me I am so excited and think my hips and back will be a lot happier not standing up for 8-10 hours a day although I don't know what i am going to do at home all day for the next 6 weeks

hope everyone is keeping well

Here is my rant for the day: On Friday I went to see my obstetrician/GP. I hadn't seen her in 8 weeks as she had been overseas but had been visiting the midwife and all was going fine. Then she informs me that the operating theatre of my hospital (local regional hospital) is going to be closed duri January, therefore I will be unable to deliver my baby there with her. I could rock up at any public hospital when I am in labour and deliver there, with any random doctor, or I could try and find a private obstetrician in Adelaide who doesn't already have a full list, who will agree to take me on as a patient when I am 31 weeks pregnant. This afternoon will be spent calling as many OBs as I can to try and find anyone. Oh yeah, and I failed my GCT so have to do the GGT tomorrow as well. Rant over.  mad.gif

#19 Happy_daisy

Posted 13 November 2012 - 03:48 PM

Oh Ljade that would make me so mad! Surely your Obstetrician should've told you that earlier, or at least have a back up plan! Are there any other hospitals she can deliver you at? Good luck with your search.

#20 Ljade

Posted 13 November 2012 - 04:20 PM

My doctor had no idea either, apparently the decision was only made in the last couple of weeks. I had luck today though- got in with an obstetrician at burnside thank god! Much less stressed now! original.gif

wow Great that you managed to get in somewhere else - such a shame that you cant go with your doc of choice though.  cant believe there will be NO facilities at all at other hosp though, pretty poor planning on their part

Thanks for the welcome! I realise it's a bit cheeky to come in so close to the end but I am looking forward to sharing the last part of the journey with you all.

AliGeo - I'm not sleeping well either but I'm not carrying twins, looking after our toddler on my own or driving long distances so I can't even imagine how tired you are! Hope you get some rest soon!

Spitz mum and Ritten - I did calmbirth with my first bub and loved it. Have been listening to the CDs for a few weeks now and find them so relaxing that I always fall asleep... I hope it still does some good!
Ritten, I am in Gungahlin too, would love to catch up one day soon!

Ellamaree - I can be an over sharer too  wink.gif I will happily post my Iran story afterwards lol! I love reading them! Can't get enough of it at the moment. I am also addicted to watching 'One born every minute'.

Ljade - glad to hear your hospital/OB dramas are sorted. Sounds like it was a stressful few days.

I can't remember who mentioned it but I think the idea of SMS buddies is a good one.

To all those I missed, hope everything is going well!

AFM things are just slowly chugging along. I am a teacher, so have started counting down the last few weeks of term (for anyone wondering there are 23 days left, 21 days of actual teaching, only 8 lessons left with year 10 and 2 assignments + 5 lots of exams to mark!).

I will be 30 weeks on Sunday and aside from the leg cramps and insomnia, really enjoying being pregnant. Last pregnancy I developed pre-eclampsia but so far, everything is looking good!

Hi Ladies,

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well.. work is crazy busy for me at the moment which is good I guess.... it means the weeks are flying by!

We had a 3D scan yesterday and confirmed we are expecting a boy... still no names though. He's looking gorgeous and chubby already! I'm 31 weeks measuring a couple of weeks ahead... does that mean I'm due in 7 weeks instead of 9??!! NOT ready at all....

so frustrated today actually managed to get some sleep last night and woke up with a massive headache and people commenting that I should just get used to it, its only going to get worse etc.... DOES NOT HELP!!! I am not an idiot I am aware that having a baby I won't get much sleep. I wish people would just keep their comments/opinions to themselves

and facebook wont let me post in the group to vent

Hi Ladies

I have been reading all the time but I just dont have much time at the moment with my little sone, My husband and full time working plus everything that is happening with this pregnancy!!
As I said in my last post I have GD (like last pregnancy) and I started with just monitering my diet but i couldnt keep my morning fasting levels down so now they put me on insulin -  just once a day (So now I cant have the baby in the birth centre) and then that wasnt working so they uped the dose - that still isnt working so I have to call them tomorrow!! Im not doinhg anything wrong and now im getting upset by it all.
I have another midwife appointment tomorrow so will hear babys heart again (love it!!)

Hope everyone is good and best wishes to everyone else who has GD!!.
