What would your reaction have been if you walked into a bottle shop a little 'sunned' from a day out and the significantly older than you bottle shop male employee had the following conversation with you:

Him: 'You look like you've had a bit of sun today'
Me: 'Yeah I did - am I sunburnt on my face too?'
Him: 'Sorry love I was just looking at your tits'

1. Die of embarrasment?
2. Be proud as punch that at 37 you still have a decent pair that people obviously notice
3. Dob him into the owner
4. Laugh out loud
5. Other

A bit of all the above.

Honestly - In order:

Die of shame.

Laugh out loud (to hide my discomfort).

Walk away.

Report to manager.

Days later (as these thing play on my mind for days...) - I would think about 2 - but with a repulsed feeling.

I think I would honestly be shocked, give him a look of utter contempt, and then walk out. I wouldn't be able to come up with any scathing comebacks on the spot. I never usually can.

Laugh. Aussie blokes make me so proud. Not.

#9 *Ker*

None of the above.

You should have stared at him and said "You DO realise you said that out loud?"

Or...

"Well. At least I have a good pair of tits going for me...seems you have very little going for you, including manners".

Throw up in my mouth a little I think.
Then resist urge to spit it at him

I'd laugh and make a joke. Probably wouldn't go back there though.

I would like to think id be quick enough to say, "while you were busy looking at my tits, I was fascinated by the massive d*ck dangling off your forehead".

But in reality I probably have blushed and giggled nervously and hastily made my exit.

I am pretty sure I would lose the plot at him.  And then cry.

I think the word "a**hole" may have been ued, had I been in that situation.

I think I would just look at him in stunned silence and leave as soon as possible.

#16 elmo_mum

i would have laughed and asked for a discount....

or just made a comment - i would have looked down into his crotch and just continue the conversation....
if he questioned i would have said - well since you find it acceptable to talk to my boobs, i was just wondering if you have a d.... to talk to too!
oh wait - i cant see it....

Really? You would laugh and make a joke?  huh.gif

To answer the OP's question, I would definitely make a complaint to the owner. That sort of behaviour is disgusting!

I'd like to think I'd make a witty retort, but the reality is probably what Swahili has said.

What a rude pig!!  Comments like that were considered ok maybe 20 + years ago but we have learnt that they are not and he should have known better.

I do not think I would dob him into the owner but I certainly would have told him that I found his comment completely inappropriate.

Elmo_mum love your comeback, that would be a classic.

I think I would be very embarrassed and leave as quickly as I could.

#23 nom de plume

Id more than likely say, "Dream on sunshine", and put my booze back on the shelf and leave.  Then I'd be very annoyed because I'd have to find another bottle shop.

#24 casime

"Hope you got a good look, because with pick up lines like that, it's the closest you'll ever get to a pair."

#25 mivimummy

Say "Sorry? What?" while trying to figure out if he actually said that or maybe I had sunstroke and was imagining things.  Then go bright red when I was sure I really heard it, mumble some awkward response and leave.

Then come up with my awesome, witty, cutting response while driving away.
