I doubt they would stop a determined suitor, and the girls can be just as determined as the boys when its mating time.

Easier to keep the b**ch locked up in the house. That's what I do with my entire b**ches, easier and safer.

what makes you think mutts are the only ones doing this? If y our dog is on heat they shouldn't be outside and should be locked up.

One man's cute is another man's totally stupid.

They aren't a new invention, they've been around for years. Commonly known as "b**ch pants" and they are more designed to protect floors and furnishings from drops of blood. The ones I've seen are designed to accommodate a sanitary pad.

My little chihuahua had one of those (although I wish I'd found such a cute one!).

It was more to stop her making a mess of my cream coloured couch than to stop other dogs getting to her!

I can't see how it would stop a dog? There's a hole for the tail so ... I dunno.

Considering dogs will mate between slats in a picket fence, I don't actually think this is going to protect Precious Fluffball from being "assaulted".  laughing2.gif

You can get testicular implants for your desexed male.
My male dog is desexed and I did not want him tattooed (his ears stand upright). When I was taking him to a different vet & filled out the form & ticked the desexed box but noted no tattoo. They asked me "Has he got implants?" I just had to say "sorry?" as I had no idea what she meant.

I assume they are for show dogs so they look like an 'entire' dog

Perhaps it's better to just be a responsible dog owner and desex your pet unless you're a registered breeder.

Just the thing to keep bogan dogs away fron your upper claass pooch.  He'd probably want to name the puppies lower class names.

My friend is a registered breeder, but when she was waiting to breed her dogs, she used a disposable nappy with a hole cut in it. And kept the dogs separated.

so those that compete in shows and/or are registered breeders are not responsible - righto then

Well, I'm responsible but its a bit hard to breed dogs or compete in dog shows if your dogs are desexed.

As long as it's not Brootys, Macks or Fydow nobody cares.

yeah I am pretty sure my grandmothers, mother and cousin and aunties and my great grandmother are or were all pretty responsible.  I wonder how dog lines would go on if all responsible people desexed their dogs.  Oh I know we wouldn't have a problem as their wouldn't be any puppies!

Its the irresponsible pet owners who should be desexing thief pets; the responsible ones wouldn't allow an unplanned mating to happen.

And it's not that hard to prevent it. I've got two entire girls and one boy with his balls intact. The girls stay indoors when they're in season, the boy stays out. In the evening, he comes in and the girl is crated, then at bedtime he is put in a crate for the night. He is happier when he can see the object of his desire and it bothers him less than if he can smell her but not see her.

the only thing new about these is the design print...

we had one for our brittish bulldog over a decade ago because she was a show dog and couldn't be desexed... it stopped stains over the house biggrin.gif
