2 cars here and a double garage. We don't use the garage as it's full of stuff that was my dads. We still need to sort through it all. Our driveway easily fits both our cars side by side, and another 2 behind them if we have people over, so 4 all up in our driveway.
We'll put the cars back in the garage when I can get the motivataion to sort through dads stuff once and for all, but for now I can't bring myself to throw any of it away.
One thing I always wonder about is why people use their garages for storage areas and leave their cars out in the weather all the time. The average person spends a lot maintaining, registering and insuring their cars, so why leave them outside when you have a perfectly safe garage to put them in? and insurance is often cheaper if you keep your car in a locked garage at night. Most people need their cars for their everyday lives so are their cars of less value than the items being stored in the garage?
For me it's not that simple. I know our cars are expensive and we pay a lot to maintain them, register and so on. But our cars can be replaced and/or fixed.
My dad died a few months ago and all I have left of him is stuff and a lot of that stuff holds memories for me. There's no way I'm going to throw any of that out before I've had a chance to go through things properly, when I'm eventually ready to do it. Once it's gone that's it. I can't get it back. I'm not going to put it into storage either, when we have a perfectly fine space to keep it in.
