Looking to buy DD1 (nearly 9) & DD2 (6)  iPod Touch 4 for Christmas.

For those of you who have kids with iPods, which cases do you recommend - the hard silicone/gel shell type cases or the fake leather flip top ones which will also protect the screen??

I've been looking for something that might combine both the hard shell case with the flip top for the screen, but can't find anything like that.

DD3 is not quite 2 so I'm after high level of protection from toddlers!!

I have a hard silicone cover which comes up over the edges of my ipad mini.... It has taken an absolute beating and is fine (including drops etc). Just purchased a screen protector screen.

Upgrading DS2s ipad cover case (which was back and magnetic flip cover to a silicone one too.

How dogs could make children better readers

Issues around children learning to read are rarely out of the news. Which is hardly surprising – becoming a successful reader is of paramount importance in improving a child's life chances. Nor is it surprising that reading creates a virtuous circle: the more you read the better you become. But what may come as a surprise is that reading to dogs is gaining popularity as a way of addressing concerns about children's reading.
