I've recently returned to work after two years mat leave and have decided I'd like a new handbag for my Christmas present. I am a bit sick of my cream leather Oroton hobo bag as I seem to lose everything in it and it is getting a bit grubby and worn now.

I need something a bit more structured and quite large as I lug a lot of stuff around, but it needs to be stylish, timeless, high-quality and versatile. I don't like changing my work hand bag each day so it needs to be a colour and fabric that goes with everything. Not black.

Would anyone like to start tossing some ideas into the ring for me to consider?

As a starting point I quite like the "LEGACY COLORBLOCK LEATHER CANDACE MEDIUM CARRYALL" from Coach in brass/camel. WDYT?

I am lusting after this one - not sure if another pale bag is what you're after though. I like S&R for work bags as they usually have plenty of internal pockets so I don't lose my phone, keys etc. and I've found that they are quite durable.

ETA that Coach one is beautiful

I love the Coach one and it is exactly what you are after.

I have had my eye on two but neither fall within what you are after....

- LV Delightful Monogram GM

Radley London make really nice bags in the softest of leathers. You get a great bargain at the mid- and end of season sales. Shipping is flat rate 20GBP from memory.

After looking at how exxy the Coach bags are and how exxy (and boring) the Oroton bags are I am now leaning towards Spencer & Rutherford. I have found a couple I like already.

I love the one you are after Georgie01, but I don't really want anything too light this time.

I'm more interested in thisand this. Still looking though, S&R is like a candy shop.

I'll probably get myself a Coach bag if and when I get a bonus and feel I can justify the expense on myself, but for now while DH has to fork out for it I'll go for something a bit less financially crippling.

WDYT?

Mulberry Alexa is gorgeous. I have it in oak and the oversized in black.
Oversized is a good size but for structure, a mulberry bayswater would be an awesome choice. I've had a bayswater in oak for years and its structured, sturdy, high quality and shows absolutely no signs of wear after all that time.
It will last a lifetime.

Hmm, the S&R sale has been extended until tomorrow....might have to give DH the nudge to order my Chrissy present now.
