a christmas ornament,
a target hamper,
make your own christmas hamper,
small bottle of baileys with glasses or similar type drink
itunes giftcard
a hat that says I heart Adelaide (assuming its adelaide..lol)
a funky 2013 diary or calender

I would go with bacon bandaids and astronaut icecream balls.

So many things I would want! I wish I had thought of this for the secret santa thing I am involved in, there was a requirement that one of the gifts be 'in bad taste'.

If he has just moved there, what about something like this hide-and-seek Adelaide

little over budget, but we got given something similar when we arrived in Melbourne 2.5 years ago and still use them now.

Smokemart had some quirky moustache things like straws with moustaches on them and sandwich cutters call 'crustache' original.gif

I thought they were funky (not sure on price under $15 though I think)

The myer near me has tables set up around menswear that are full of stocking stuffer type gifts for young guys. They have a lot of the sort of thing think geek has. Lots of cool stuff by Fred (moustache ice trays etc) and other, similar brands. I'd give that a go if you have a myer nearby.

A novelty bottle opener
A guide to your local area
There are keyrings called'  ...in my pocket'. We have 'Star Wars in my pocket' (but you can get different ones) and when you press the various buttons, it says Star Wars lines.  I think it came from the ABC shop
