At least $100 a week (for me) that doesn't include any weekend trips visiting.
DH gets x amount paid for by work when petrol prices were really high in the middle of the year he used to have to top it up about $20 a week. Now they have come down he basically gets to and from work on his work card. We will occassionally take that car out so will put fuel in it.
We looked at getting me a hyrbid (as we got it when we first moved 46km from my work - we are now 52 km from my work so close to 3 years ago) however when DH calulated up the difference in price and the fact that at the time something would need to be replaced within every 3 years (or 5 years if you hardly used it) he said it wasn't worth it. (I do trust him with that as he is a mechanic)
I had a fuel efficient car but it wasn't as fuel efficient as it could have been and was a bit too small. So we got a better fuel efficient car which was medium size. We did contemplate about 5 months ago trading it in for something even smaller (as DH had since gotten a larger car which he did not have when I got mine) as they had 0% finance on almost everything. However we didn't and glad we didn't as the pram will easily fit into my car which I prefer to drive as it is so much lighter.
I would have had this car for 3 years in Jan next year, it has already done 135,000km
my last car was 9 years old and had only done 78,000km.
