I'm considering doing a bombe alaska for christmas dessert. Has anyone made one? They look easy enough in theory, but would love hints from those who have done it before. Would particularly like to know if I can prepare it in advance? I realise it is largely ice cream however apparently the meringue acts as an insulator? Thanks!
