DP took me there to show me where he had worked when he was a school boy (a long time ago so the young 'un spotting isn't anything new) and I freaked out!
Way too big and way to busy for this little country bumpkin!
That's how I used to feel about it when I was 17, newly moved to Brisbane for uni from a little country town of 2000 people, and was used to knowing the names of everyone in the shops, and knew their cars too! In my second year of uni I ventured to Indooroopilly and conquered it, and then enjoyed it. Now it is just standard to me.
At least Indooroopilly is laid out logically. Long, straight and multiple layers. Places that confuse me are shopping centres with twists and turns, and are only one level. It is sooo far to walk to get to different shops. DH refuses to go in to Chermside after we went in there once and he got lost.
We were at Indro on Wednesday night and it was lovely and quiet. I don't think anyone even knew that some shops were open until 9pm for Christmas trading. Target was open and very quiet. DH enjoyed that! He hates crowds. It also made it easy to navigate in a wheelchair. Stupid sprained ankles with a hairline fracture...grrr. I'm a bit nervous about how busy it will be on the weekend when we have to do all of our Christmas shopping, and also have a trolley.
