After a thoroughly disappointing and stressful Christmas I'm hitting the beer. Anyone else as sad as me? Tounge1.gif

Ungrateful family can bite my fat butt. So much effort, so little gratitude. Bah, humbug, maybe this shoulda been a vent LOL

I'm waiting till I get the ferals to bed.  DH went back to work today, we dropped him at the airport at sparrowfart and get him back in 3 weeks.

Probably not as sad as you, but with my share of bah, humbug, definitely.  And after braving the crowds at Chadstone today, exhausted too.

May have a drink later, but by all means feel free to vent now.

I had a vent that I deleted yesterday...

Basically it was my first year to host christmas...I wanted to have some of DH's traditions (who is american) along with my own. Let's just say that my massive effort of apricot and pork stuffed turkey, carrot casserole, and turkey gravy, went down like a lead balloon with my family. They had all their usual favourites too, but apparently it's too hard or gross to try something new. Upside is, DH declared it all better than his grandma's (which is where the recipes came from). Just bummed about the rudeness really. Everyone left straight away, when every year we always ALL hang around to help clean up.

So yeah, over my family right now. I know we were raised on "3 meat and veg" but jeez...

Ange - you are one brave lady to be hitting Chaddy!

Mareek - that is totally sucky sad.gif

I'm trying to push through the tiredness and bad mood by cleaning.  So far no good.

Oh Mareek that sucks.

We had a quiet CHristmas, just the five of us as we are in NSW and the rest of the family is in Vic and SA.  I refuse to travel to them EVERY year, and they seem to be unwilling or unable to travel here.  Not that I'm complaining, although my MIL is livable she drives me mad at Christmas.

Next year I'm thinking we might go on a cruise or something....

Argh! I know I said I would wait till 5 but I really need one now....DH took DS out bike riding ....they came back well before I expected them, poor DS clutching a towel to his chin....he had a head first stack off his bike, split his chin open, so now DH is driving him off to hospital.....sad.gif.... Could have been worse I guess, luckily he was wearing a helmet ....

Oh no!  Hope he's ok.

About to have a wine here.  Pretty quiet day here.  DS a bit niggly because of a couple of big days.  So I spent the day playing with his toys him.  Will spend tomorrow packing up the christmas gear an get ready for his birthday.

We are watching the cricket - well, DH is.  He is also playing with DS2's lego.

Haven't heard from hubby....they are still at hospital... The gash looked pretty bad poor guy...he has actually fallen and split open his chin before....seems to be his weakness.....DH obviously just scooped him up and came home when it happened...they've dumped the bikes somewhere ....not much I can do as I'm home with the baby....

Anyway..he's in good hands....hope everyone else's evening improves!

DH was given a gift voucher he wanted to spend on a particular lens he could get at a specialty store there.  I extracted perfume as my price for accompanying him, so it was ok.

Actually, it wasn't too bad - the sales girls told me yesterday was mad, but today was busy but tolerable.

I'm not allowed to drink because I'm yet to spawn.  So I'll just sit here and inhale the fumes.

I'm definitely here.  Big argument with DH who happens to always conveniently run off to a friends house everytime it happens while I'm left at home with the kids doing everything (I'm lucky that they are old enough now).

So sorry that your efforts were unappreciated by your own family. Hats off to your DH though for being so nice - what a treasure!

I'll join but not drinking. Had way too much alcohol in the last week, so sticking to herbal tea for the moment. Plus, I demolished a 7km hike and a hard session at the gym today so don't want to waste all that effort.

I am over my DP's inability to make a decision or plan ahead. I am not asking for much, just to plan five days from now!

Lucretia - I hope your son is okay.

Yah, he's done a lot to p*ss me off lately, but he definitely boosted my spirits Christmas day. I didn't even want to START cooking, due to negative comments, but he made it all worthwhile with begging and praise lol

I'm onto my second corona! No one has especially annoyed me, although I could have slapped MIL on Christmas Day. She gets rip roaring drunk at every event, and she's a really annoying 'slurring, sentences not making sense' drunk..... Urgh.

Wow, that sounds lovely.  Congratulations on your success there! Can you explain what the carrot casserole involved (aside from carrots lol).

I'll be having a wine when the screamers go to bed but have a Skype meeting that I need to remain partially conscious for later on sad.gif

Evening ladies! This one had me smiling.

Nothing of note to report here, but certainly sitting myself at the virtual bar with you all.
