Dh and i will be staying in this year and having a few red wines and watching the fireworks on Tv. So what are your plans??

I was going to ask people this as I'm stumped. Dh just wants to stay home with the boys but I'm thinking we'll probably regret not doing something - anything. We might head down to the local park where they've got entertainment, rides for kids an fireworks at 9pm before making an early mark.

Normally just watch the fireworks on tv but its starting to get a little boring, so heading out for an 8 course degustation dinner this year.

Sounds nice and relaxing OP. Enjoy!
We'll be at my best friend's mum's place for a Mexican themed party. Will be great for us, as I can put down DS (3.5mo) for bed in the porta cot and not have to fluff about with a sitter. She's close to the fireworks too...

Take away and a Doctor Who marathon. Maybe a couple of champers.

Nothing at this stage. I'm exciting, me.

We've actually got somewhere to go and looking forward to it this year. Our names are at the door at a sw**ky party in the city at our friends' new bar/restaurant. DDs are overnighting at Mum's. And the bus that goes past our house has extra services running NYE so no waiting for cabs hopefully
Just need to work out what the hell to do with my hair...

DH is going to a big party at a mate's place where there will be heaps of music, wild partying and no kids. He's been lining up the tunes and is looking forward to hitting the decks and making some music.
At 7.5 months pregnant this does not appeal to me, so DS and I will go to a friend's party in the country where there will be heaps of kids, a relaxed vibe and local fireworks for the kids at 9pm.
It will be the first NYE DH and I have spent apart in more than 10 years, but I am letting him get away with it this year because we are about to embark on the new baby journey again and I want him to have the chance to let his hair down a bit.

Seafood feast at my aunts then off to the local club for a bit of a dance with a group of friends. Truthfully I would much rather stay at home and sleep through it but its the 2nd anniversary of my fathers passing so really should get out and take my mind off of it.

Going to a party that DH's cousin has organised... camping on the waterfront with about 30 - 35 people (including kids) - spit roast, salads and a bottle of Yellowglen Bella... and watching all the fireworks that people (illegally) set off around the lake that we will be next to. A couple of my best friends will be there as well, so it should be a good night. I've recruited the neighbours who will be home to come and let my dogs into the house before midnight as the dogs will be home alone for the night and I am worried about them getting scared if people set off fireworks around here, so all is organised
... we normally just stay home with us and maybe a couple of friends, so it will be a nice change to be around a lot of people

The local club I am cleaner for are the only place open this year, so the entire town will be there, so we figured we'd go. It works out well because I know the staff and I can put DD in the office in her pram away from all the drunk idiots once she's asleep.
I also get the bonus of cleaning up after the madness New Years day, so more money for me.

small bbq at one of DH's workmates place. Only 3 or 4 families I think - so maybe 8 adults 5-6 kids?
We will be well home before midnight

Just another night. Might have some wine.

Spit roast sounds delicious

DS1 is 6 & DS2 is 4 so I came up with an original (not). I want to take the to the family fire works in the city. They haven't seen the windows yet so we can pack that in with a take along home dinner. Transport is free (mad trainies). If they can' last the distance or it's too many people we will just come home.

DH has his first day/night back at work in a while, so I think i'll have a nice relaxing bath and an early night if the kids let me!

Baby siting for my sister , so I will be entertaining 5 kids (12yrs,7yrs,3yrs, 20 months and 8 months) can't wait YAY!

7.5 months pregnant with GD, so our usual degustation at a sw**ky restaurant is out :-P
So instead I'm slow roasting (6 hours) a pork shoulder for dinner (with yet to be determined sides) and I might splurge on a GD friendly desert :-P DH will drink wine and we will sit and reflect on the year that was (it was a BIG year for us) and talk about the year that will be (expecting another doozey of a year!).
And as a plus, I can do it all in my PJ's :-)

Hanging with my Mum, sister, bros and assorted kiddies. Hopefully, it will be warm enough to have a swim.

Going to get p*ssed after the year I've had! Looking forward to 2013 and starting my absolute dream job that is like winning the lotto !
DH had had 8 days off so has to work tomorrow but should be back in time for a midnight celebration (must not start early!)
Can't wait for 2013!

We're going to the beach with friends, going to do an early New Year countdown for the kids with party poppers, sparklers and glow sticks for the littlies and a friend had a cool idea to bring helium balloons for them to release and make a new year wish. We'll drink some fizz, eat some picnic food and prob be home in bed by 10pm!

I'd like to be sleeping. DS probably has other plans for me
DH wants to go to a friend's for pool, BBQ and a view of the fireworks from friend's balcony. I'm thinking its all just too hard with DS, 4.5 months, so we might end up spending it apart for the first time in 14 years.

We are having a BBQ here - lots of fun!
Posted 31 December 2012 - 06:33 AM
Well... we were invited to a party, but it's 3 hours away and we'd have to camp. DF is working today so we wouldn't be able to leave here until 5:30 at the earliest, and we both have a bit dose CBF.
So we are having a quiet night at home with my Mum
Might have a few drinks, making a nice dinner and might watch the fire works on TV.
