I quit alcohol 3 weeks ago, and smoking just over a week ago. Since then I have been craving sugar! Like pms 'give me sugar or I will kill you' cravings. Do you think this is coincidental, or is my body trying to tell me it's missing something? If so, what?

It seems sugar and alcohol are quite closely linked. I was reading this but didn't get to the end so I'm not sure it's factual, but there is some kind of interaction between alcohol and insulin production, so there might be something in that that tries to make you compensate via sugar?
