A friend had the Riedel ones, years ago, before they became popular. I hate to tie DH down so he didn't go out and buy them.

Now they are so popular, 1/2 of him is saying "gee I wish i bought them", the other is saying "thank god I didn't".

I must admit I loved them, and still do.

Freedom had some at Christmas. They also had red and blue glass ones (as well as clear ones).

Ikea has them too.

Edited to add: ikea

Yeah, personally I think wine glasses without stems are just weird... but each to their own.

At least if you're going to do it, get some nice ones, like the Riedel....

Riedel or nothing.

We have some cheap knock offs and the opening is just a bit too small.  So you don't get a good 'nose' of the wine.  The Riedel ones are perfect.

They work best with reds.  I find the heat of holding them ruins a nice white.

My going away present from work last month - 2 boxes of Villeroy and Boch stemless wine glasses: bourdeaux and burgundy.

I obviously cannot use them yet - so I will have to wait a little bit (lot) longer...

Freedom have some. So do House, which I saw yesterday there were sets of 4 for 19.99. I think Country Road also sell some online.

If you want something truly beautiful look a James Dodson's work...

I have wanted a set of his glassware since I was about 18!
