A few years back I would always make Carbornara with thickened cream. Once you get your hands on a good, 'proper' Carbornara recipe, you'll never use cream again. (It's made with just eggs, bacon, Parmesan cheese, olive oil and garlic - the cheese and olive oil together forms the sauce).
If I had cream to use up, I would make a big potato bake which everyone loves as leftovers too if there's too much for a single meal.
Or, grab a packet of Chocolate Ripple biscuits, whip some cream with a tiny bit of icing sugar and vanilla (it gives it a mock cream flavour/consistency).
Another thing I like is a pasta sauce made with a mashed avocado, cream, crispy bacon and spring onion. Totally unhealthy though!
