Several things have nudged the bank account over the last week.
1) A book that my mother gave to me when I was 6 (so 43 years ago) and I loved it but in my twenties I lost it and that's been on my mind for ever.
So a few days ago I searched and found and bought the same book as a replacement from a seller of vintage books in the US. It cost me $70 including postage. The book is called Toby Tyler (Ten weeks with the Circus) and there are many editions out there but this was the Junior Deluxe edition and I'm so happy I found it. It is the exact one that Mum gave me.
2) DH and DS (they like shopping those two), trotted off to replace our very old BBQ that went Phutt a few days ago. $2000 later they arrived home with the new one. But Mum 'it has granite side-boards and a sink' says DS. Nice BBQ though.
3) Still feeling nostalgic, I have also purchased an old 1970s board game for DS (and me) called 'Go to the Head of the Class'. He's into his board games at the moment and I know he will love this. I know I paid a premium for it but I don't care.
