I am thinking of buying a pressure cooker. The girls ar work swear by them and say how great they are.
Went looking today for one and Harris scarfed has this one on sale http://www.harrisscarfe.com.au/store/all-d...er-mprc610.html

Now I have checked it all out, but the one thing I can't find out is if I can sauté/ brown the meat first then cook it for the remainder of the time.
Does anyone have this model or can you recommend one that sauté as well.

Also has anyone cooked a roast in one?

I hav the Breville fast slow cooker, which is pressure cooker and slow cooker in one. It also sautes (at one, quite high temp). It's great.

I've cooked a roast chook in it - ~30 mins pressure cook (google for time guides for chicken weight) finished off in v hot oven for a few mins to brown.

Have also don large piece of beef (browned first in same pan) that I shredded.

Also mans if u misjudge slow cooker, you can finish it off in pressure cooker.

I dîdnt end up getting the mistral one but bought the ronson pressure/slow cooker one that sautes as well. I was lucky to get it for 69.00 as it was incorrectly priced. Can't wait to try it out.
Have been looking for recipes all day lol
