Has anyone else seen this YouTube clip?

It blew my mind by just making so much sense.  I had to share it.

I know this with every fibre of my being. That is why I am desperate to homeschool my very creative, lateral, musical 7 year old son who had one disastrous year of school last year where none of these attributes where valued highly. Now I have to work out the logistics to make this happen.

This is why I stray outside the bounds of Kodaly music education.  It's a great grounding in the basics.  But it doesn't work to keep 9+yos engaged.

Whenever we do "group" projects, I always leave open the option to work by yourself.

I try as much as possible within the bounds of "having evidence to prove stuff" to give kids the chance to do it their way, but it's so limited in an hour a week sad.gif
