Ok, As the wind is bending the glass in my windows at the moment I have set the kids up in my WIR on a cot mattress/blanket nest so that there is no chance of them getting covered in glass if they smash. We have a netbook a laptop an iphone and a DS as well as the usual emergency supplies. How can i entertain a 12 yo and a 13yo for a few hours. They have all the DVD's and we still have power. Any websites they can watch kids tv?

My DD12 would spend hours on the Google Maps site just looking at places she has heard of all over the world. Would something like that interest your girls?

Sounds like teenage heaven to me! I don't think they'll have any trouble entertaining themselves with those electronics.

Pray you don't lose power When the power goes out here we lose the net too!
Like other PP's sounds like a teen's idea of heaven!

Well we got through one movie and was actually quite good. Sort of enforced family time even though I can think of comfier places to do so. When I posted that it had been about an hour and I had already heard pleas of I'm bored, it's hot in here etc etc so just thought someone on here would have some suggestions I hadn't thought of. Even have managed to get down to the hospital to switch shifts with DH looking after DD. stay safe everyone further south. It's driving me crazy seeing people's comments who live further south being blasé about this. It's quite scary.
