After five, FIVE, years of lurking I am finally posting here and I am having a ball! So if you are a lurking lurker, come and say hi! Tell me about yourself. What are your favourite things and what brings you to EB?

A bit about me; I'm 37, I'm on maternity leave with six month old DS, my hair always looks untidy, I"m a raging chocoholic, my favourite movie is Flying High, I love Toblerone cocktails and I love to read renovation blogs and some old school Johanna Lindsey. I came to EB in 2007 when a friend of mine was pregnant, which got me curious about the whole baby-making bizzo and when I typed in "pregnancy" in Google, it brought me here.

So please pop a toe in the water and say hi!  blush.gif

Oh and feel free to say hi even if you're not a lurker!

Welcome to the light!   wink.gif

Seriously, I think this is a great idea.  The more the merrier - and people like me who post too much need other people to enrich our discussions!  (I promise that's not code for "fresh blood").

I'm a lurker.  I hardly ever post.

Oh wait...  laughing2.gif

Actually when I first joined way back when puss was a kitten I lurked for probably a couple of years before I first posted.  Once you get started it IS fun.

I agree with the OP.  De-lurk yourselves.  We're mostly harmless.  original.gif

waves.gif Hi silverstreak!  I was a bit of a lurker in my previous account but have jumped in a bit more since rejoining.  I agree that it's much more fun to join in!

I haven't tried a Toblerone cocktail but that sounds like something I'd like to go swimming in.  biggrin.gif

Hi sata korsa (not sure how to do the squiggle!), Toblerone cocktails are yummy and taste just like the chocolate! By the way, what does your username mean?

I actually wished I'd lurked for a while to be honest. I dived in head first!! Should have tested the water first and sussed out the best pool for me! But I've since found the pools I like to swim in here and enjoy being part of EB.

I lurked for ages reading heaps. I didn't join as I knew I would quickly get addicted, and yes I have original.gif

Well....it's a bit embarrassing, really.

Way back before DH and I were even TTC, I used to browse EB a bit occasionally (followed the links from The Age website).  And one day, someone was wrong in a thread... and I signed up to disagree with them... and I haven't left!

Thanks Therese! I was eating my tuna, sweet chilli and mayonnaise sandwich (which tastes better than it sounds) and I thought, "What the heck!"

Haha, Ange, love it! Reminds me of the XKCD cartoon!

Ah, you see I think I've lurked a little too long, Whimsical Dragonfly! Beautiful username by the way.

Mrs LexiK, that was one of the reasons why I lurked for so long, but as I've basically lurked every day for five years I thought I might as well start to post!

Hi Lurkers!

Just a little tidbit...

THE AMERICANS ON EB ARE SUPER FRIENDLY! wink.gif

Glad to see you come out from the shadows and into the light!

It's Bengali for 'seven courses'.

I started off with this really annoying username made up of only symbols.  When I decided to change, I got the idea from Ange Vert to try something in another language and the result is a mish-mash of a dear friend and a lingering memory.  That's all I can say without giving away too much identifiable information!   biggrin.gif

Ok, my DS has just settled for a powernap, so I think I'll join him, as I'm a bit tired this morning, but I'll be back soon, I promise! Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

OP don't trust BadCat, omg she is one tricky kitty!!! biggrin.gif

Yeah I agree with MrsLexiK, it is really addictive but on the positive side it may replace your choc addiction!!

Aww thanks.

And don't listen to Miss Shelby.  I am so not tricky.

Hang on, this place did nothing to replace my choclate addiction.  Why?  What am I doing wrong?

Welcome OP and other lurkers. I lurked for a while....I can't remember what prompted me to join...but I'm glad i did! It is addictive though. I used to be a voracious reader...of novels .....

Hi Miss Shelby, if only something would replace my chocolate addiction! The afternoons are the worst!

I like your username Lucretia Borgia. Have you read Madonna of the Seven Hills by Jean Plaidy? I love her books as well. I was a huge reader before having DS, sigh, but nowadays when I have any spare time I usually nap.

Sata, seven courses, that's making me hungry!

Baddmammajamma, I would love to visit America, it's on my bucket list. Lucky DH has been twice and actually stayed at U Dub in Seattle as a teen.

Mostly harmless eh BatCat? It's a good thing I've got a towel!
