I just dont know what to do, . .

DS is turning 7 at the end of March and although hes only had one proper party (last year at a indoor play centre , of which we invited all the boys in his class plus 2 cousins and a few special friends), he is expecting some sort of "party" again this year.

It is a problem for us as
1- we moved into our new built home last year and at the moment, have no outdoor area to speak of, covered or otherwise. Just alot of clay dirt !
2- he was invited to alot of partys during the year and now thinks that evryone should buy him a birthday present, and he'll  be able to invite everyone to his. We only invited all the boys last year as it was his 1st year at school, and we didnt know yet, which boys hed buddy up with etc as his birthday is early on in the school year.
3- he is very tall for his age, so most of his friends are shorter than him, even the older ones, so that puts out doing an activity like go carting etc, also some of them are almost a year younger.

I feel he's now too old for most play centres,we dont have much room at home yet for a house full of kids, party food etc, and we're also a bit hard pressed for spare funds at the moment sad.gif

Does anyone have any bright ideas ? We have started explaining to him that not evreyone has a party every year, which seens to be sinking in.

I have began thinking about letting him choose 2 friends and taking them for a Maccas lunch followed by a movie at this stage.

Any ideas ???
