Is EDP125 the education unit? I am doing Child Development for Educators through curtin but that isnt the number for the unit (my last 1st year unit as I was supposed to have an exemption but then it wasnt credited properly so now I have decided to do it). I am going through curtin Regional.
I have done 135 in 2009.

I am not a student on the course.
But wanted to say that teaching is an area that regulary gets mature students.
Hubby is a teacher and often has Curtin and OU students in his class during their placements.
Generally they have been over 30 or 40 years old. So dont worry about being older.

120 and 125 here. If you're old, I'm probably Methusela ;P
I wanted to be a teacher 25 years ago, and was talked out of it. I am hoping to transfer to the 2 year course at Macquarie in the second half of the year, though, as I already have an undergraduate degree.
All the best !

Im a fourth year student with Curtin. Only 4 more units and I am done, YAY.
Im old too, I started when I was 42 and Im certainly not the oldest, there are plenty of mature aged students doing teaching.

Thanks for the feedback ladies I'm 42 as well - hope to be teaching at 45.
Nicole - all the best with the rest of your subjects.
jm3 - congratulations on graduating !
I'm really thrilled with the idea of doing this course... finally. I really didn't enjoy my first degree (actually, bordered on hating it !), so am very excited this go 'round. Has really helped with guiding my eldest and what she wants to do in life !

I am doing edp125 through curtin regional but was wondering if people wanted to start a facebook group so we can chat? My housemate (just left school so only 17) is also doing it. I am turning 30 this year.

I am on currently on my level 2 units for the Early Childhood degree. It is difficult to manage while working and with a family, but I love the flexibility of online learning.

I'm the same as Nicole, I started at the same time and the same age with this course. I had to quit last year due to family reasons (would have been finished this year!) and won't be taking it back up as I am in a different profession now and am studying other things, but it was a pretty good course and I would recommend it. Everyone I met was mature age so you definitely won't be the oldest!
Good luck with your course!

I am enrolled in EDP 120 An introduction to teaching. I am 42 with 3 boys and have worked as a teachers aide for 9 years. I have wanted to do this for ages but am SO unsure if I can handle fulltime work, family and study so only enrolled in the first unit. If I'm successful I will continue on! Am slightly freaked out and overwhelmed but excited!
