Happy Waitangi Day from an Aussie who really admires the way your culture is honoured

Foogle that was cool. My dad was a captain with the union steamship company and he was also out at sea during that storm.

I just looked at a copy of the treaty and for the first time, have seen up close the signature of my ancestor, Tamati Waka Nene, a Nga Puhi chief.
DS was supposed to be born by elective caesar on Waitangi day 10 years ago but the obstetric surgeon remembered on the 4th that it was a public holiday and he was supposed to be playing in a charity golf tournament, so DS was born on the 5th! I got heaps of visitors the next day due to it being a public holiday (and fascination as to what a massive premmie baby looked like).
Happy Waitangi day for yesterday.
My all time favourite song - the video was filmed near where I grew up.
