Hmmm...many questions came to mind:

- do you want to maintain the relationship you have with this person irl?
- or do you HAVE to maintain it???!
- do you really want to out yourself?
- do youhave enough time to trawl through their post history and print out the glaring porkies and send them anon in the post with an ominous "I know what you say on line" message cut out from newspaper headings?

Do it! But maybe be a little subtle about it so it doesnt come back to bite you on the rear.

If I had a sig that had a photo I could possibly be recognised by I would probably post something like you have posted here so that the person knows that I know without shaming the person.

I say do it ... but

...if you 'value her friendship', do you think she will still value your friendship if she reads this thread and connects the dots?

This is probably what I will end up doing.....actually I guess I am doing now....that's if she realises it's her.

You realise we'll all be stalking your post history now. ph34r.gif

Yeah...nah.
She may not feel very good about herself and may use EB to pretend to be the person she would like to aspire to.
She may be a compulsive liar.
Whatever - her issues, not yours.
What would you gain by her discomfort?

If it was worrying you more than just p*ssing you off, you could mention the contradiction to her IRL.

She is probably going to read this and come to her own conclusions about who you are talking about.

I agree with this. The only right way to handle it is to tell me who it is.

But no, I wouldn't say anything. I assume she's insecure. And who does it hurt if she fibs to anonymous people who could all be lying too.

BTW, I'm an hirsute truck driver with a foot fetish and toe curling B.O.

I might type something cryptic here and there!  I couldn't help i't!

But I wouldn't call them out on it.  I'd feel sorry for them more than anything to be honest.

Exactly this.

Only if they were lying to get donations and thus ripping people off.
Some embellishment to appear richer or have a better job or whatever, I'd let it go. She isn't hurting anyone.

Agree with this.

Unless she is having a go at people or being hurtful for their lifestyle or the way they behave and she is the same then I wouldn't worry.

We are all mostly anonymous here.

If she realises you are talking about her, I don't like your chances of still being friends.
