Just curious if people celebrate both their wedding anniversary & the date they met...

And the date they got engaged? And the date they started dating?

One & the same for us!

We married on the 1st anniversary of our first meeting -- it was a Saturday when we met, and a Monday (such an uncoventional day for a wedding) when we married.

We are very efficient people. wink.gif

Yes, we do. We had been together 8 years when we got married, and had been celebrating that anniversary for so long it seemed strange to drop it.

Ours is the same date! biggrin.gif

Ours is not quite the same day, but very close. Purely coincidental, if it wasn't we wouldn't celebrate the day we met, but we do like to reminisce about it fairly often wub.gif

We met on April Fool's Day and got engaged on 01 October 5 1/2 years later. We married on 14 April.

On the date we got engaged last year we had a picnic on the beach where DH popped the question, so nice and low key.

We have decided to do something nice in the first two weeks of April every year to celebrate our meeting/wedding. Maximum flexibility!

We celebrate the date we started dating and our wedding anniversary original.gif We had been dating for 2 years before we got married. No big fuss, we greet each other on the day and maybe have a nice dinner or movie in bed.

We actually 'celebrate' the date we started 'going out' more than our wedding anniversary.

in 2 months we'll have been together 10 years, but to us our wedding (3 years in may) just reconfirmed exactly how we felt about each other, and the only reason we did get married was to make things official, so it isn't that important to us

We celebrate our wedding anniversary but add in our "starting dating" anniversary also as they are the same month. 6 years of being together and 3 years of marriage later this year  wub.gif

Exactly this. Once 'hitched' we simply altered the celebration: Fancy dinner for our 'first date anniversary' and weekend away for our Wedding anniversary. They're also in different halves of the year that it didn't seem excessive  wink.gif

I think once we get married that date will be the only one we celebrate. After birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Days and all those other things I don't need an extra day to be spending money!

We celebrate the date we started going out(yesterday, 20yrs ago to be exact!) and our wedding anniversary which is in April. My parents have done the same all their lives as well.

We celebrate the date we got together (several months after we first met), the date we moved in together, and the date we got married.

They're all the same date, one year apart from each other.

I can only remember that we met in September... wouldn't have a clue what date it was since it was in 2002!

We only celebrate our wedding anniversary (we don't bother with Valentine's Day). Children's birthdays seem to take more priority these days and that's fine with us! original.gif

I would like to do something extra special on our 10-year anniversary which is in 2014.

We didn't even remember how many years we had been married last year (and it was only 3!) so there is no hope of us remembering any other dates.

Yep.
We have been together 10 years this year.  We've only been married for 7.  We don't give each other presents for either occassion but we do enjoy a childless dinner at a restaurant.   Any excuse for a night out.  wink.gif

Rubybelle, we had our wedding date and year engraved on the inside of our wedding bands so we can easily check in future as we will both likely lose track at some point!!

We just celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We met when we were in year 8 or 9 but only DH can remember. I remember the day and party, but don't remember him laugh.gif

biggrin.gif last year we celebrated our anniversary by me pushing out a baby...does that count? Tounge1.gif

We've been together for 12 years and married for three.  We never really celebrated the anniversary of us 'going out' but definitely celebrate our wedding anniversary. The two dates are only two weeks apart anyway plus we have DS's birthday (as well as BIL and MIL birthdays) in the same month, so one nice dinner out or weekend away to mark out time together is enough of a celebration for us. No presents either.

We're not massively romantic people - I've only had one bunch of flowers in all that time!!

Given my DH forgets the date we first started dating, I do go out of my way to cook him a nice dinner that night if we are home, however more times than not, we are away on holidays - so it's already a special time.

Wedding anniversary & engagement anniversary are the same date - we go out for dinner.

I was planning our wedding anniversary to be the same date as our first date anniversary, but it didn't quite work out that way.
