My DD is 7, will be 8 in June.

I'm mulling over whether I should take her to the doctors for a chat, but really don't want to put her through anything if this is on the more normal side of development.

Since September 2012 she has grown 6-7 cm.  clearly taller than her class mates.
Has needed deodorant the last 6 months.
Extremely emotional, huge mood swings.
Noticed last week she has started growing pubic hair (about 5 or 6 only).

So is this in the realm of normal, I have googled and found it hard to get a gauge on how this is all supposed to go.  In my eyes she is still my baby girl so I might just be over thinking it all.

I'd say that's on the early side but still in the realms of normal, from my experience.

Hi there,

I posted a question in another section.. Disabilities and Illness, about my 7 yr old DD. Nearly 8.

She has some breast developement, no pubic hair yet and our Paediatrician is sending her for a head MRI tomorrow. huge mood swings aswell. We had some blood tests last week and her hormone levels were elevated.
He thinks it may be Precocoius Puberty.

I'm interested to see the replies to your question.

I do know though that puberty does start earlier than when I was at school, but 7 seems really young.

Here is an interesting article worth reading. I think it may have come from another EBer.

Have a look in the 8-12 years section. I recall a discussion in there recently, with some good links.
