Hi and welcome to the South Australia forum original.gif

Please note the following rules that apply to this forum.

Trading Room - Pick up items

Please note: This applies only to those who are members of the Trading Room. You can find more information about the trading room here

12. You may only post a thread in your state forum linking to your item in the Trading Area if it is an item that is not practical to post. When posting in state thread the title must contain only the the words Pick Up and the forum title, such as Baby Items, Household Items, Wanted, Clothing etc . and the body of the post must only contain the link to the Trading Room thread. NO bumping or responding to questions is allowed in the state thread.

These threads will be locked as soon as possible after being posted.

Not following these rules does result in a strike against your trading record.

We must remind everyone to be extremely careful about doing so in way that it not potentially defamatory. Please do not discuss individual teachers/staff members in a negative manner, even in a way that indirectly identifies them. Even a general statement such as 'the staff are hopeless' may be defamatory if the centre is small, or indeed people know and can identify the staff to which you are referring.

Small businesses and not-for-profits CAN be defamed, and many childcare centres fall into this category.

Please be reminded these are rules also apply to DOCTORS, MIDWIVES, OBSTETRICIANS etc. Any INDIVIDUALS.

It applies to any SMALL BUSINESS of which a lot are discussed on EB.

Defamation occurs when published material, identifying a person, conveys a meaning that:

- Lowers/injures the person’s reputation
- Leads people to ridicule/avoid/despise that person

Large corporations cannot be defamed, but small companies and not-for-profits can be defamed.

A person may be “identified” other than by their name (eg. by relationship, where they work, etc)

Both the client and the person who has posted the offending material can be liable, which must be kept in mind at all times.

You must not identify or comment on any individual doctor, midwife, medical practitioner, hospital, business, organisation or other individual.

A list of our site rules can be found here. We thank you for your cooperation and hope that you enjoy using the forums original.gif
