Hi Babystepz

Good luck with your cycle. Hopefully if your FS trusts the other doctor with you, then you are in good hands.

What is DHEA used for? We're right at the end of our first cycle - two days til BT. We only got the one embryo as from 7 follicles had 4 eggs and only one was mature. So it will be another whole cycle if that embryo didn't take. (My DH doesn't want me to POAS either).

Hi Gagingi,

The DHEA is apparently for better egg quantity and quality.  The side effects made me a tad angry, spotty and my hair is falling out (still have lots though), but its got testosterone in it.

My last cycle I got 3 eggs retrieved, two fertilised and only one made it to day 3.  That lonesome emby is my one year old son.

Good luck with your transfer.  Try not to POAS, save some cash.  Damn things are too expensive.

I said to my DP that it's in gods hands (or alternatively the FS and embroyoligist's hands) with regards to this cycle.

Am just doing what I am told and hoping for the best again.

Hi Babystepz

Thanks for that DHEA info. We're just coming to end of 2WW and it all came to naught today as AF arrived with a vengeance and POAS BFN. We think I should still have BT tomorrow, but FS office said don't worry about it given AF and HPT. We'll see...

We've made next FS appointment for 2 weeks and hope to do another cycle with next AF, but from what I've read if we do DHEA then need 6 week lead time. We'll see what FS says.

At least we've got the cat!

This is what I get for replying on my phone! I unfollow the thread!

So sorry, Autumn Leaves. I hope you have a chance to think about donor eggs. Oh I hope you’re UTD Oh Baby! Hope it goes well for you, babystepz. Thanks for responding, Gagingi, hope it all goes well for you next cycle. (Oh, and Gagingi, my kittehlalahs have been a bit more attentive the last two weeks as well... I think they can “smell it”. )

AFM, I’ve been on 450iu of Gonal F the last 2 weeks (the max dose a pen will deliver), my blood work has shown that I’ve responded “well” for my age, but the nurses were having trouble finding my right ovary last Wednesday, so I had to have a specialist sonographer do my ultrasounds... and on Friday had another blood test and ultrasound by a specialist sonographer...

The sonographer found 10 “reasonably sized” follicles on Friday!

:omg:  OMG! 10 follicles! I’m 42, and they found 10 follicles! I told my immediate boss Friday afternoon that I’d be “chucking a sickie” tomorrow as my FS booked me in for an EPU at midday tomorrow, and he was amazing about it being at such short notice.

I gave myself my trigger at midnight, ready for my EPU tomorrow, with a possible transfer next Saturday and a blood test the first week of June.

I’ve given myself the mindset that “this is my first cycle and it will not work but I have to try”, so I’m not disappointed...

Breathing, praying, breathing, cooking, trying to put it out of my mind until after the pickup.

Hi Bella Laird - congrats on the 10 follicles and good luck with EPU tomorrow. I love your attitude to your first cycle. I found I was over investing, but at least I'll know the crinone side effects for the next one! With 2 kitties, if they sit on your lap, or sleep on your pelvis, you might want to check if that is too much heat post transfer. It really worried me, but the more I pushed the cat away, the more she would cling. I eventually rang the nurse and asked, but will check with FS next time as they put off a lot of heat.

Anyone here agree with this statement:

"At 44 you shouldn't even be considering using your own eggs."
