Oh you beat me to it Halby!  I don't think I've ever had Gold or Silver ... so I'll take it :)

How are you doing?

Halby - any news?

Hey GG how are you going? I think you are cycling now maybe? Mine got cancelled as I couldnt get the lining right. I'm now on the e2 patched before AF and then start an array of meds for a medicated fet so hopefully we can have some success.
Let me know how you are going.

Hi Halby, great to hear from you and sorry that you had a cancelled cycle.  That sucks :(

I'm now in my cycle - which started on CD23 with progynova and Lucrin, however today should be Day 1 ... no sign of AF yet.  So annoying - it's been anywhere from 26 to 28 days, and typical that this is going to be different.  I just saw your post re Estradot, I'm wondering if the progynova has done the same to me?

Which FS are you seeing now?

Just spoke to my clinic, and they said it's common for the progynova to delay things by a couple of days ... so I'm feeling almost normal at the moment :)

Hi GG and Halby, Just decided to pop in here on the off chance as I hadn't had any alerts that there had been posts.... must be because of the new thread. Grrr..

How exciting that things are about to start GG.. please pop back and let me know when it all kicks off. Fingers crossed.

Hi Halby - I hope that your chance to transfer a frozen embryo (or two) happens soon.

AFM - well Day 4 for me. We are currently monitoring my LH and FSH on Day 3 so I had a blood test yesterday. FS is away today so will speak to him on Monday. FSH results are very high so looks like menopause is ramping up. Having said that, we are booked for a cycle in September - EPU approx. 15/9. I turn 40 in 3 weeks....

Funny cycle this past month. Was 3 days longer (I have been sick with a virus and asthma and been on antibiotics) but AF was pain free and of a much lighter flow than of recent times. Perhaps the DHEA has moderated my hormones somewhat? If my FSH comes back at under 15 this month we may try IUI as we have frozen semen. Haven't done IUI before but DH works away a lot and with a 2.5 year old, opportunities to BD are few and far between.

Well, fingers crossed for all of us.....

Great to hear from you Causeway!

I'm still waiting for AF to arrive!!!!  It's driving me crazy, and this is the looongest cycle I've ever had.  It's a 35 day cycle so far ... longest I've ever had.

It's the lucrin that does it.  I even (stupidly) did an HPT today - only one little line, so guess I Just have to keep on waiting :(

Keep us posted how you are going girls x

Hi GG

I hope AF arrives soon. I didn't have that problem on Lucrin. but I was also on the BCP so my cycle would line up with clinic dates as we are regional. I hope AF arrives soon.

AFM - had call from FS yesterday. My FSH is under 15 so we are doing IUI cycle. I have started injecting 300iui Puregon and have a scan on Friday.... IUI is relatively cheap compared to IVF so... why not. DH works away a lot so timing can be difficult. Lucky we have semen in the freezer...

GG - wouldn't it be funny if we have #2 within a month of one another again!!!

Hi everyone
Im back! Some of you would remember me (maybe as fefe76)

Anyway we were very luck to have been donated 3 blasts from a lovely couple in WA (we are in QLD)

On Friday 11am 1 of them was transferred. So I am 4dp5dt today and doing a medicated cycle, progynova 3 times/day, Crinone AM and Progesterone 200mg Pessaries PM

Nothing much to report though this morning my 1 cup of coffee I allow myself nearly made me gag and have some tugging pulling near my belly button and also keep feeling slightly (only very) nauseous.

My boobs are and have been sore (but thats the drugs) but having more shooting pains in them today

BUT ... it could all be psychosomatic.

Today DH & I celebrate 10 years of being married and I hope hope hope we get the best present of them all, it would be so brilliant if this worked 1st time around and we knew we have 2 more chances.

BT on 30th July but I know I will cave and start POAS soon!

OMG! Fefe.... Such a wonderful gift from WA.... FWIW, my first indication that I was pregnant with DD was tipping my morning coffee down the sink. I also had some tugging in my uterus.

I await news with baited breath on 30 July.... I am very excited for you...

#13 GreenEyedGirl

It is a wonderful gift. We now have hope and a few more chances at a bub or bubs.

I only wish more couples were as selfless as my donor couple who wanted no more than for someone else to experience the joy they got from their children.

I am truly without words when I think of this gift we have received.

Hoping it's worked, that would be uber super :)

Fefe, what a lovely surprise to see you in here.  How lucky are you to have some generous donors assist in your journey.  I have everything crossed for you.

Causeway, keep me posted on your scan tomorrow!

AFM:  scan this morning indicated that I had a cyst, which is producing a huge amount of E2 (my level on Tuesday was 1120).  This explains why AF hasn't shown herself.

So, the plan now is to stop my lucrin and progynova, wait for a bleed, start on the BCP for 21 days, and then start all over again.  Feeling a bit frustrated today :(

Between the 4 of us old-timers in here, we should have some success I'm hoping!!

Hi to everyone else.

6dp5dt POAS & BFN so have no idea if it's too early or another failed attempt for us
Feeling pretty crap emotionally & physically not great. Progesterone is knocking me around big time

Hey Fefe welcome back or should I say green eyed girl.

Sorry about the cancell and have to start again GG Bloody cysts I think sometimes it is a response from all the meds we take.

Causeway how goes it? How did the scan go.

Well finally got af last Friday and what a relief my boobs were seriously killing me and I was also the biggest b**ch I have ever been been after 24 hours a af what a relief I felt both emotionally and physically. So I suppose technically she was on time not late. Anyway I am now on my progynova as well as the patches and viagra pessaries. We are obviously throwing everything at this lining of mine. I have my US on tuesday and I am guessing I will be transfering the Wednesday or the Thursday as the amoint of "moisture down there" (stmi) I am guessing my e2 is very high but I just have to hope my lining has gone along for the ride. Fingers crossed as all these drugs are really sending me through the emotional roller coaster.

Keep us posted on how everyone is going. Have a great weekend ladies

Hi Ladies,

Well all of a sudden there is so much activity in this BG again.

Halby, I hope all goes well for a transfer next week. All those hormones certainly send you crazy.

GG, sorry to hear that your cycle has been cancelled. It is so disappointing.

Fefe, those early HPT with BFN certainly muck with your headspace. Have you been testing again or are you waiting the 4 days until BT?

AFM- scan went well yesterday. FS was pleased with lining on Day 10. I have two follicles. One is very small but the other is correct size for Day 10. I am on 300 iui Puregon daily and I will have another scan on Tuesday with IUI on Weds or Thurs. Fingers crossed.

FYI - my FSH Day 3 dropped to 13.5 this cycle from 21+ on the last 3 cycles.

Looking forward to news in the coming week from this BG

Looking forward to some news from Halby and Causeway tomorrow ... let's hope there's some magic going on *down there* for both of you!!

Green Eyed Girl - I'm hoping it's too early to test.  Have you done any more poas?

AFM - still waiting for AF to turn up.  Not sure how long I'm supposed to wait after stopping the Lucrin and Progynova, so will wait another day and then call the clinic again!  Tic Tic Tic

Hi Everyone,

Quick update. IUI has been completed. Had two lots of frozen sperm ... ummm.... errr... transferred. One at 9am Thurs and again and 9am today. Am on 200mg progesterone pessaries once a day. Now the TWW again... gee its been sometime for that. My big birthday is Sunday week, which makes me 9 or 10DPO so I hope to be able to hang out to then.

FS is quietly confident... time will tell.

GG -any news?
Fefe - I hope you are ok.
Halby?

Fingers crossed

Hi all, am new to this area, I hope you don't mind me barging in :) Pls let me know if I'm in the wrong spot.

Just found out I've a low ovarian reserve. I'm 39, ttc for 18 months give or take. I/we have been preg before but have no children.

We had a round of tests done by a FS and results were all pretty good really. Except my AMH result of 5.5. Am pretty gutted about this to be honest, but trying to keep a positive attitude. *Edit to add- 5.5 is low for my age I mean. I knew ovarian reserve would have to be 'low' at 39, but 5.5 is really low so I'm told.*

Given my age the advice is 'straight to ivf'. The only pre-test I haven't had is laparoscopy to check for blocked tubes. The FS said it's probably not worth doing it, since whether result is good or bad the advice with 39 y/o eggs is "straight to ivf" anyway.

Financing ivf is a huge worry, we'd have to borrow on top of borrow to do it. So many other things about the process scare me too.

Sorry for ranting! Actually the more I type the more I think I should be in a different forum... you are all clearly further along in the process than I (reading this thread, I only half-grasp your acronyms which proves how new I am to this world).

Anyway, taa for listening. If you know of any better forums for scared newbies than this (on eb or elsewhere) pls do let me know? Feeling lost with rising panic.

The very best of luck!! to all of you further along the path than me. I so hope we all get some joy.

Hi ladies

Dustyblue - welcome to our little group, and sorry you have found yourself here.  Please don't feel like you don't belong in here - we all started in the same boat as you.  Having a low AMH isn't the end of the world - it simply means you won't respond as well as some others might to the drugs, but doesn't mean your eggs are poorer quality.

To put it in perspective my AMH 4-5 years ago was <1, and I now have a 2 1/2 year old daughter (as does Causeway) - so don't give up yet.

If you want a run down on all the acronyms happy to help.  I think there might be a big list somewhere, so I'll go and look for that for you.

The cost is scary, but we are so lucky in Australia that Medicare does cover a huge amount.  So we do need to find a huge amount up front, but out of pocket is nowhere near that amount.  But you're right, it's a really tough thing that we have to consider.

Please feel free to post any questions you might have in here.  I don't tend to check in every day, but will keep an eye out to see how you are going.

AFM .... still plodding along.  I'm on Day 50 now with no sign of AF.  I don't know what's going on really and just about to make a call to my FS.

Chat later.

x GG

Taa GG for your reply :)

Thanks so much for your positive words. The AMH result (and the attitude of the FS) made my heart sink, and I’ve been a a mild funk ever since. So I appreciate hearing your anecdotes a lot.

I need to re-energise somehow and start all this bloody ivf paperwork. Apparently the idea is to start it anyway, even if I’m unsure about proceeding, since it takes so long & you can always bow out later. I’m feeling v. anxious about it and having a hard time starting..... but meanwhile the eggs aren’t getting any fresher.

Also I need to read up on ivf generally.... I went to the last FS appointment with a list of questions but left without asking most of them- once I understood the advice was ‘straight to ivf’ I blanked out somewhat. It wasn’t what I was expecting. There was no suggestion of anything else, just 'If you were 10 years younger I'd say this but..' and 'Here's the ivf paperwork'. Fair enough I guess, just a little confronting.

Anyway, thanks again. I’m sure if I read through this forum area properly I can pick up some of the abbreviations :) It’s just every time I’ve tried it all gets a bit painful & I stop, pathetic as that sounds. I will toughen up a bit :)

Good luck with your FS, I hope you figure out what’s happening asap.

Hey all how goes it ? Causeway especially that dreaded 2ww???

As for me cancelled yet again, not even estrodot patched, progynova, e2 pesseries, and viagra pesseries was getting my lining above the 6.2-6.5 mark. My clinicc is great as they did give me option as to whether we wanted to transfer but we declined as I have always felt that all those drugs have the opposite effect on my lining, so here we go day 1 today and we will track me normally and do an U/S when E2 is at peak. I just dont want to risk my last beautiful nine embryos on what I dont think is the optimal environment. I have to say it is very bloody frustrating as this is the 3rd or 4th cancellation (I'm loosing track now) so all that work to get the embryos and now I am in the struggle to get to transfer them. It was such a stressful month though with business just insanely busy so the key to this month is R&R and really keeping my stress in check.

I am trying all the natural sh*t too I might add and that bloody Macca root is so disgusting I am forcing it down with my cereal as I type and really want to just spit it out.... Rasberry leaf tea tablets apparently help as well as vitamin e which I am always on as well as baby asprin for blood flow and not to forget excersice.......blah blah blah. So ala natural cycle here we come again. I have never had this issue with my lining before so fingers crossed I can get there this month.

How is everyone else going? Any news from anyone?

Have a great day

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this group - I just found out 2 days ago that I have a low ovarian reserve and we are now looking into ivf....

I'm so nervous and scared and this news is a total shock to me. I'm only 29 years old.  I never thought I would be in this position.

I'm not sure what the next steps are but I wanted to know what hormones people were put on to get successful ivf....

#25 Gordo's Girl

Posted 14 August 2014 - 04:15 PM

Hi girls, and welcome Nezz to our little group.

Causeway .... any news?????

I'm still waiting for AF to arrive.  Day 59 of my cycle now - had bloods last week that indicated they think I was about to ovulate, so obviously just skipped a whole bleed.  This is so different for me, and I have a 28 day cycle all the time.  The cyst is obviously messing with me.  Not sure if they'd just go in an dget it out if it carries on like this.

Halby, so so sorry you have had another cancelled cycle.  That just sucks.  Maybe we need to catch up and discuss this over a glass of wine (or two?).  Happy to lend an ear if you like :)

Nezz, there's a mountain of different hormones that get thrown at you during IVF cycles, and we all respond differently to them all.  Once you've seen a Fertilility Specialist (FS) then they will start you on one or two, and add to the cocktail depending on how you respond.  Wishing you loads of luck on this journey and hope it's a short one for you.

Dustyblue:  are you still checking in?  How are you doing?

Hi to everyone else!

GG
