AB30 - thanks for the Maca tip I hadn't heard of it before. I hope you get some good news  or some progress from your appointment next week

SA results are in and it's a mixed bag. Count and motility are up but morphology is down. Less than 1% normal so pretty much as bad as it can get.

Looks like ICSI is our best option. FS said not to bother with the D and C. So confused right now. Had seriously hoped we wouldn't have to go down the IVF path.

Vanilla bean, so what's icsi?? Is that a type of Ivf?? Sorry for my ignorance, I fear I won't be able to be ignorant for much longer!

It's the type of IVF where someone chooses the best looking sperm and injects it into the egg. Regular IVF just lets a whole lot of sperm swim around with the egg until one fertilises it. It's a bit more expensive.

I haven't done too much research into it but will have to start looking.

I've already taken the clomid this month so one last shot at a miracle before making the big decision.

Fs appt yesterday... I have no confidence in our fs... Nothing in our results explain our multiple pregnancy losses, fs believes it's to do with implantation or the embryo.... LEd me to believe there isn't much that can be done if implantation is the problem...clutching at straws he is doing a laparoscopy in a few weeks to rule out a symptomatic endometriosis... In the mean time he's started me on vitamin e.

I'm going to look into acupuncture and I think I'll be finding a new fs, someone who I feel confident with....

I am sooo excited!!  I am going on for my first IUI tomorrow!!  We were not sure if I was going to ovuilate really early again this cycle, and this cycle would have been gone also like last cycle when I overstimulated to the injectables!
But had a scan this morning, and i have 3 large follicles and had the ovulation injection this morning also, which means IUI tomorrow night!  I am excited!
I know the chances are low, but I just have a feeling this is all the kick we need!
I am going to be positive the whole TWW, and worry about any dissapointment at the time!!!!
I feel like it has been forever to get to this point!!  2 1/2 years!!!!!!

I cant believe my post was the last in here!!!!!
Well, I am back with you again!  I am so devastated to say that I miscarried on 1st Jan, and lost our baby at 10 weeks.
I cant even explain how i am feeling at the moment!!
However, i feel that having a plan to get trying again is helping, and the fact that I was able to get pregnant from our first IUI is encouraging!
I am feeling really lost as we thought that we were there after over 2 years of trying, and having unexplained infertility!
Anyway, hope you ladies are all well, and coping with your own situations ok xxx

Hi Ladies

Do you mind if I join this forum?

DH and I have been TTC on and off for about 8 years. – I have PCOS and  In the past we have tried clomid, Chinese herbs and acupuncture. In 2008 we finally got out BFP but mc at 7 weeks.

In September last year we decided to go back to the FS after about a year and a half of not TTC with assistance and we are have just started our first OI round.  Starting with 25mg of Clomid (CD5 today) due to poor timing with AF over the xmas period and clinic opening times. I have been taking metformin (850mg)  since early December to assist with insulin levels to help shorten my cycles.

I have booked in my for first set of scans on the 2nd Feb where they are going to tell me if we are good to go ahead with the cycle or not based on if my ovaries have over simulated or not – fingers crossed that they give me the go a head as I’m not really sure what the next course of action is

Anyways I hope that you don’t mind that I have posted as it would be nice to chat to people who are going through the same process/ experiences as I am.

Hi All,

I thought I might join too.  Feeling slightly out of place in the other TTC threads.

I have pcos and needed clomid to conceive DS.  DD was a natural.  Have just come off one of my longest cycles ever and seeing the FS in 2 weeks so hoping to go on clomid again.  Have been trying for around 5 months and im 37 so not keen to wait much longer given my age.

I think I have cervicitis too that hasn't cleared up with antibiotics so on to a new dose shortly.  Have been monitored by a useless gp so looking forward to seeing the FS soon.  Its a new FS as my last one has retired so we will see how we go :)

I am sorry to hear sugargirl.

Sugargirl – I am so sorry, and know exactly how you feel, just take it one day at a time, even one hour at a time.  Glad that you guys have a plan that you focus on also

Ilovethebeah – I completely understand, I have been trying to keep up in the TTC#1 and Feb group but feel lost in there also

AFM Well i went in for my scan this morning (CD11) and have to go back in on Wednesday (CD13).  She took some measurements but didn’t say anything about over stimulating so fingers crossed all goes well in the two days

Ta Ladymurk glad im not the only one :)

After waiting for an appointment with a new FS have waited since Dec for a mid feb appointment got called last night, appointment put back 2 months due to illness (of FS).  Time to find another FS I think and one I can see sooner than another 2 month wait.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

ilovethebeach - Sorry to hear that your appointment got cancelled.  Have you had any luck in finding a new FS?

AFM I am currently CD19 and things have been a little hectic.  Had an Internal Ultrasound (IUS) on Wednesday showed one nice follicles on the right side about 16m on the right ovary so had to go back for a BT on Friday to see what was happening.  Told that my estrogen levels were high so to BD over the weekend and hoping that I would O without the trigger.  Went back for a BT yesterday morning and was told that estrogen was still high by no sign of O and asked to come back for another IUS, went back in and I now have two follicles around 23m each so they gave me an injection of 5000 Pregnyl and said to BD last night and today/tonight – which was all well and good but my TAFE started back up last night and I didn’t get home until 10.30pm DH was asleep so as much as I tried there was no BD action last night – not to upset about it all as we BD over the weekend and am I sure I can get him tonight    Plan of action from here is to go back for another BT on Friday and then a 1500 trigger of Pregnyl on Saturday and another BT on Tuesday with another 1500 trigger and then wait until the 26th for either AF or BFP.  Now the hard part is to not over think everything and be prepared if there is no BFP this month

Would you ladies mind if I join. Cd2 today and had 1st dose of clomid this morning.

Very nervous. I am ovulating but basically have lazy ovaries. My RE had the same issue so that was comforting to know. Now is just a waiting game

Hi All,

Babymurk - I did manage to get an appointment with an FS for 28 Feb am looking forward to it.  Have just finished up the 2nd dose of antibiotics so hoping that it has cleared up the cervicitis.  Cant wait for the appointment.  I will have my fingers crossed for the 26th for you.

Janse - good luck with the clomid, it worked first month for me for DS :)

Not much going on here ive started vitex this cycle to see if that helps after marathon 49 day cycle.  Im CD 14 at the moment, no O yet so we will see.

Babydust to all

Ilovethebeach - so glad to read that you got another fs appointment. Fx that the antibiotics have worked. What is Vitex? Sorry haven't heard of it before and bring nosey

Janse - welcome good luck with the clomid. I'm doing my first cycle in years atm. Will they be tracking your cycle with scans?

AFM had another BT yesterday and levels look all good so I need to have a shot of 1500 of pregnyl today and then back in for another BT on Tuesday (which is dh's birthday) with another shot.

I also asked them what pregnyl actually does and she said that it is a pregnancy hormone that helps the body and almost tricks it into thinking it is pregnant to help with the hormones needed to get a BFP  also said not to do a home pregnancy test as it might pick up on the pregnyl and that if there is no AF then a BT is needed to confirm which is a little confusing as any symptoms that I get could be the real thing or the pregnyl so I guess I just can't read into anything in the tww which is a little difficult as I had a pink tinge in my cm on Wednesday and then some bright red spotting on Wednesday that went to brown later that night. when I spoke to the nurse about it she said that it could be implamantaion spotting and will make a note in my file. Hearing that I am trying not to get my hopes up to much and trying to be prepare myself for a bfn or AF as it might not work first time round- or any round - but it is hard I keep wishful thinking that I am and I'm even planning out in my head how to tell the family - which I think might as to more disappointment if it's not a success- do you ladies have any ideas on keep my mind from wondering

#43 ilovethebeach

Hi All,

Barbymurk - fingers crossed for you, am hoping it was implantation spotting.  Do you know when you will have the BT or do just wait until you are clearly late?  The 2ww is hard, sometimes I stepped away from eb as I was getting a tad obsessed.

Vitex is a herbal supplement that helps with fixing your cycle.  Works on premenstrual symptoms too.  Some people swear it got them a bfp so I thought last cycle before I see the FS I will give it a go.  I figure anything is worth a try to get my cycles down.  I just find it hard to tell whether I really ovulated (whether the egg was any good) and am just dam sick of such long cycles.

Janse - how are you finding the clomid?  did you doc tell you when you need to BD?  I cant remember the instructions as I last took it 9 years ago! I do know it brought ovulation forward by 8 days and resulted in DS :) fx for you

SugaGirl - how are you going?

Happy Monday

Ilovethebeach – They have said that if don’t get AF then I am to go in for a BT on the 26th .  I hear you about the long cycles and not knowing.  It defiantly makes it a lot harder when you don’t know if you have actually O or if they are any good

Well I am very proud of myself –on Saturday I did my own pregnyl injection as DH had to go to work. I was freaking out a little at the thought but now that the first one is over with I think I should be fine in the future

Oops. Lost the thread :D

Babymurk- I will have ultrasound once my E2 levels start to go up. Typically once they are over 800 there is one scheduled.
Cd8 bloods today showed estrogen 247 and LH 14.
So just above baseline. I have another test scheduled for Friday. Typically my levels increase rapidly though so hoping I will O on the weekend of early next week. Typically ovulate around cd16 but every scan on cd 14/15 only ever showed a follicle around 14-17mm. So not great :(

Congrats on doing your injection. I needed to use the HCG shot for one cycle and there was much cringing on my part beforehand.

ilovethebeach- It has been fine. Finished last dose on cd6 and didn't really have any side effects. I suspect that is because it is a low dose but still happy with that.

I have seen vitex and soy mentioned as things to try but also read that you shouldn't use them if you already have wonky cycles.

Hi All,

Janse - Yes i'm not sure about the vitex don't think it has changed anything but will know in a few days.  Patiently waiting to O, on CD20 today so hoping its in the next few days.  Figure I will try it for one cycle and see, cant get much worse than my last cycle of 50 days!

Babymurk - that is great that you did your own injection, that is huge achievement :) fx for the 26th.

Looking forward to the appointment with the FS next week :)

Hi,  not sure if this is the place for me - I have PCOS, have seen a fertility specialist,  waiting on further test results then due to start clomid beginning of April.

Hi Sh7897,

You are in the right place welcome :)

Babymurk - any news?

Still waiting not so patiently to O.  Saw the FS today and will start clomid next cycle.  Glad to be starting :)

Its been a while since I have used clomid and forget to ask when you should start to bd.  He has said to take the clomid days 5-9 does anyone know when I should start to bd?

Have a good weekend :)

Hi ilovethebeach,

I have no idea about clomid, hopefully others will fill us in.

I got my blood tests done on Friday, so just waiting for the next FS appointment to discuss results, and taking Clomid.

How did your FS appointment go? Did the vitex help shorten your cycle?

#50 ilovethebeach

Hi Shiv,

I did some googling they seem to say start trying from day 13/14.  When I took it with DS I o'd on CD17 which is a miracle for me.

CD30 here and still no O so I don't think the vitex has worked at all.  Will keep using it until I o and then stop ready for clomid next cycle.  My cycles seems to be getting longer which is a pain.

FS was good more direct than my last ob (he retied) but he seems to think he can get me pregnant he was asking me where I wanted to deliver and whether I wanted another CS or try for a vbac.  LOL im just trying to get pregnant at this point but im glad hes positive.  He suggested loosing weight too. I had the bloods tested too and he wants to test DH for sa so we will do those tests but im fairly sure that our issue is only me and the pcos.

Shiv - when is your next fs appointment?

Hope everyone else is going well :)
