Ok sorry for not updating it is ds' birthday today so the weekend was nuts. Friday went well. 24 eggs,17 mature, 12 fertilized and all were great looking. We transferred 2 awesome ones just now and they froze 10 this morning. Feeling positive and excited.

Hi all, update from me.

Good news is that the transfer went fine today and looks like no pessaries required, so now I just wait until next Fri (24 April) for blood test.

Bad news is, they thawed the first frostie and no luck, so they had to thaw the other one. The downside is that this one that's onboard now is the last I had on ice, so next step is stim cycle. Super not keen given the severe OHSS last time (week and half in hospital and three weeks off work), and our issue (MI) seems to have gotten worse since an unrelated op he had... So yay..

Trying to remain positive and have everything crossed for success this time!

Oh TCCC I am crossing everything this little one on board isa sticky beam and you won't need to stim again. Out bt's are the same day we can be hopeful together. Big hugs.

Thanks waited, oh that's pretty cool that we find out on the same day. How did you go today? Are you on any meds?

Hi TCCC went well and for the first time got some frosties. I am on crinone (morning) & pessaries (night). What about you?

#57 TCCC

Posted 13 April 2015 - 10:42 PM

That's great, congrats on the frosties!

I'm not on anything at all. I was a bit concerned that they didn't think I needed anything, but the girls on here put my mind at ease. I mentioned it to the nurse last week and ended up having a few more bloods (including today) to check progesterone levels. I think if they were low they would've put me on something but they said they come up fine today and I didn't need anything. I guess they know what they're on about!

Primadonna - gals to hear you avoided didocam!
Waited - fingers crossed for the two you have on board, 10 to freeze is AMAZING!
TCCC- sorry to hear about the failure to thaw. I understand your reservations about another stim - OHSS is not fun. Best of luck to this little emby. May the whole prospect be avoided.

Only - you're in my thoughts. When you're ready to let us know how beta #2 went we will be here.

AFM - stupidly, ridiculously faint bfps, lighter than the lightest last month, and not getting any stronger since Saturday. Waiting for My GP now, going to take a beta and prog just to figure out where things are falling apart as I feel like AF is imminent (but I've felt that way since Saturday). No nausea. No sore boobs. I'm not optimistic.

Posted 14 April 2015 - 06:15 PM

Sounds very random Shay, but don't give up yet! When is AF due? Dd you have a beta?

I ovulated late this cycle, on day 19, so my FET yesterday was day 26. My cycles are normally 29-30 days regardless when i ovulate so I think I'll know sooner rather than later. I've had a few random pains today, but I presume it'd be too early for it to be any kind of implantation?

#60 Shaynavyre

I could barely see lunchtimes line, so I brought a clear blue digital. AF was due last night / this morning. (She arrives by waking me up from sleep and kicking me in the guts repeatedly.) very solid not pregnant after a huge wait on the CBD. With how over emotional / highly strung I am I expect AF now!

I had a beta done, so I can actually give exact sensitivity of these tests - though I've asked to not get the results until Friday. I've spent most of the day an enormous wreck. Crying after I dropped our puppy off to be desexed(what right to I have to condemn her to childlessness?) bawling at the GP, crying on the phone to the nurses at my clinic, on the phone to mum. I think it's all the disappointments and crying I have avoided for these past 5 cycles catching up with me.

I have a massive headache, but I've run out of tears now and I have the calm numb sensation.

I've also - mainly through the chat with the GP, made the decision I will not be seeing my FS again. I will try out the clinical director - or change clinics all together.

So some good has come from the river of tears.

Just taking it super easy and having some me time to regroup before starting stims.

DH has decided he's hiring me a cleaner and gardener too.

On a totally NOT over-emotional topic.....

I haven't heard back from the mods as yet regarding our "graduates" group..... But I did find a relevant (albeit dead) section of the forums where it could fit.

What do people think?

So sorry to hear you're going through so much emotional turmoil Shay, especially with everything else on your plate (and the puppy!). Perhaps a change in clinic/FS is what you need. And the cleaner/gardener sounds like a great idea!

I think the grad group is a really good idea!

Oh Shay. I'm so sorry you are feeling all of these things. I wish I understood all of the aconyms but I get the gist of what is happening. All I can say is I am thinking of you (well all of you actually) and my whole body is crossed inside and out that something good will happen xo

Thank you for the love and support ladies. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do. Still no AF. I think I will ask about my prog. numbers today, it wil make the betas on Friday easier to bear.

I heard back from Minite, and for simplicities sake, I'm just going to copy her reply here.

I'm so sorry for the delay in replying to this, I received the email notification and thought "oh I'll get back to her when I'm on the laptop" then never did!!

There is a Pregnancy/Parenting after Problems forum that in the past was used for discussion and buddy groups for AC Grads, and whilst it is still there and available to be used, people rarely do. I'd suggest this is the best place for a discussion between AC Grads and anyone else who wants to follow their journey. I would be happy to facilitate any buddy group in there that you all agree on. Whilst I would be fine with having it just within the AC forums, I know this will cause issues as things have in the past in the AC section where some members prefer it to be an area that people move away from once they're pregnant, so as to not upset those who are still trying.
So, we can approach this one of two ways. I am happy for anyone to open a discussion that will form a buddy group within the Pregnancy/Parenting after Problems section, and when I open new Ready Set Go groups, I can include a little note in the first post letting people know that they have a buddy group to move on to, and explain a little what it's about. Or, I can open a group for you guys and we can go from there. I'd suggest calling it just something obvious so that people who can relate to it will click in, maybe AC Grads and Friends? Not very cool and creative lol!! Happy to have suggestions, we just need to make sure people will know what it's all about!
Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are about all of this, naturally I'm happy to support you all so you can continue chatting :) It's been rather sad seeing the Pregnancy/Parenting after Problems section so neglected, I used that section myself when I went through IVF, back in the day when there used to be 3 or 4 months bundled together to make DIGS for AC grads. Hopefully this will help to revive it somewhat :)

So we need a name, for starters - and I can't get past "ready set go graduates (and their stalkers)" so I am bowing to your creativity here.

The name does pose a question in itself though, one I would like to hear thought on. Is it just for us? As in do you have to have been a part of ready set go to participate? I never intended to be exclusionary - but I was always thinking about staying in touch with the RSG girls. Does it hurt to broaden it to everyone who has gone down this path? And if we name it based on RSG, does it inherently imply participation as a pre-requisite?

Secondly, I've been giving some thought to IVF Success Stories, and I think I would like to see this a little more structured than free for all. For me, I don't find "DH and I tried for a year and got pregnant our first try with IVF" to be helpful (like the success stats thread in AC General.)

I think it would be cool if there was an "interview" template that people could copy and then fill in their replies to.

I would need help with the questions, but I think it would range from diagnosis / supplements / alternative therapies / any pregnancy complications / what week gestation did you deliver and a bunch in between. Even things like "hardest point" or "when did you feel like giving up".

We've got this awesome opportunity to create something not only for us, and the ones that have gone before, but for those that will come after - maybe even years and years after!

Give me your thoughts!

Shaynavyre, so sorry you had that experience, I am glad you had a proper cry and are feeling a bit better for it. I hope you took some time off work to just rest.
I hope changing Dr's or clinics will make the difference you are hoping for.
I like the idea of an interview template, I would love more details/stories of people that have had success and failures through AC

Shaynavyre I'm so sorry you have been through this. My friend who did IVF and now has a 2 year old and she said it's always good to have a good cry and get it all out.

Can I ask what a beta is?

Beta hcg is the form of hcg available in blood - so beta is just shorthand for saying 'blood pregnancy test'.

The beta numbers should double every 24-72 hours in a normal pregnancy, so most IVF ers won't consider themselves pregnant until the second beta results are in.

Shay: I so hope you're wrong and AF is not coming. It's scary waiting for beta results but I hope the wait is worthwhile.

With regards to the group I think it should be general for all AC graduates. If you name it Ready, Set, Go graduates it does sound excluding and a more generic name would feel more welcoming to newbies. In reality, if someone didn't look for support while on the ivf journey they are highly unlikely to look for it in this group while parenting, so essentially it will be Ready, Set, Go graduates.

I think a questionaire for IVF success stats is a great idea as you can compare only when you have all the information. When we summarise our ivf journey, we always miss out some information as there is so much to remember, so a template would be great.

Oh Shay, what a crap couple of days you've had! But I swear by a good crying session, I often put on the saddest films I can think of when I can feel a blockage, just to get it all out. I hope you've had a better day today xxx You're very strong not getting the beta till Friday, is that so you have the start result at the same time as the later result, to know if it's viable? And getting a cleaner was one of the best things we've ever done - I'm not even working at the moment and we still have her, I would rather do without other things so we can afford it, she is a wonder! Are you in Sydney? PM me if you're interested in her details - I've referred a few friends to her because she is genuinely brilliant.

I also like your interview template - I agree, when reading through the threads it's either not much information or lots of responses saying 'I'd like this information too, I'm 4dpo and I've got sore boobs' etc etc - would be so good to be able to actually compare information!! What supplements everyone used (and how) is also so useful. I also agree 'AC graduates (and their stalkers)' is a good title :p Maybe lurkers rather than stalkers actually haha, someone might actually have a stalker! All the talk of dildocams and EWCM has to do it for someone...

Good luck TCCC and congrats on being PUPO, fingers crossed you don't have to even think about OHSS again..

Waited- what amazing numbers!! Ten frosties?! You'll be making a football team :D welcome back to the 2WW too.

:waves: to everyone else.

AFM - finally got my uni assignment done today which I've procrastinating over for weeks! So now that is done I'm onto symptom spotting, and mainly convincing myself I'm pregnant so that I'm really set up for a fall on Monday ;) Have a busy day tomorrow at least!!

I'm a graduate of this group, a while ago now, and I still stalk. I'd love a grad group, particularly as I'm not sure there is a place for when I'm trying for number #2. Nowhere feels quite right!

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch earlier. I have been working some extra shifts over the school holidays. I have also been trying to get my head around the current situation, so took a brief hiatus from EB for a little while.

So my beta on Monday was good (150). It has certainly risen nicely and I was told my progesterone was also ok (but I am on progesterone pessaries). I still am getting occasional left sided pain but never as sharp & consistent as it was on that Wednesday. The clinic has said that there is no point doing another test until next Monday (unless I start bleeding in the meantime). They also said that it simply isn't possible to know for sure that it isn't ectopic until a scan at 6 weeks (which I already knew would be the case).

So the situation is pretty much what I had anticipated. I am being given hope that it could be viable, at the same time as having to prepare myself for the worst. Emotionally it has been difficult but not in the way you would expect. Shockingly, the possibility of an ectopic is not causing me any distress at all. In fact, it seems that I have been emotionally anaesthetised and can talk about the ectopic calmly & clinically - as though it is happening to somebody else.

I am so ashamed to admit this, but it is the possibility of a viable pregnancy that has sent me into turmoil. I am filled with extreme anxiety and dread whenever I think about it, and then immediately overwhelmed by gut-wrenching guilt. I have never felt so insane in my life! Sometimes the sense of panic is so strong that I feel like I am going to be sick (and not in a morning sickness way). I have always considered myself to be a fairly rational and self aware person so I feel completely blind-sided by the way I feel (and so angry with myself). My DH thinks I am reacting this way as some kind of self-protective coping mechanism (so that if we lose Se the pregnancy I won't be too invested). I hope he is correct and that once this pregnancy is clarified one way or the other, all these feelings will go away.... but I fear that he is wrong and that this may be the start of an anxiety disorder. I have an appointment with a counsellor in two weeks (which is too far away in my opinion).

Anyway, so much to catch up on...

Good luck to everyone in their 2ww.

Embryoagogo - when is your beta? I noticed a few posts ago that we go to the same clinic. I wonder if we have been sitting opposite each other at some time and never even known it!

Waited - 10 embryos! You fertile goddess! Were they day 3 embryos or blastocysts? All the best for the 2 transferred.

Shay - words can not express how sorry I am about your experience. I really hope you are wrong about AF coming because you have been through enough! I think getting another opinion from a different Dr is a great idea but my advice is not to get just one. When I changed clinics I saw three different specialists from three different clinics all in the same month. It really helped to clarify our approach because some of the advice between the Drs were the same (which I found reassuring). The suggestions that differed helped us to choose between the Drs & clinics. I don't think it can hurt to get a fresh perspective on things. What did your Gp say about the Metformin?

I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to mentioning everyone personally. I'm at work again but promise to post again tonight.
