Nett-
I'm so terribly sorry.. Very heartbreaking.. Really hoping you are able to get in soon to see your FS. Hopefully you will get the ok to go ahead with the FET.

Elsee- FX that the biopsy is negative!! Glad to hear you are feeling better..

Kat- I haven't been on that med either but think that's the one some have referred to as tears of satan! Hopefully it's not that bad!!?

Prima- well done on the frostie!! Great news. Crazy how things can change in a matter of days! Looking forward to hearing how the other little guy is traveling! Hopefully he'll make it to freezing to keep the other company;

TCCC- welcome to the 2ww!! Consider yourself PUPO xxx best wishes xxx  are you going to hold out or are you a POAS :) do keep us updated!

Mrs P- hopefully it won't be long now and you get to start! Very exciting!! I always do the new undies trick and that will almost always bring on AF..very sweet of DH.. Love seeing guys get mushy about babie stuff..

Tracey and Animal- thinking of you both!! Been stalking the 2ww board. Headed there next. FX for you both!!

AFM- nothing to report. Just waiting for AF. I'm praying I get to start this month and that DH will be home and not traveling..  Trying to figure out if I have it in me to cycle and do an EPU alone.. Really hoping that's not the case but his work is so unpredictable and there's nobody to cover vacation or sick days... Can't stress to much as I have no control over these things.. Sigh...

Hi Ladies

I'm back and have just started injections again. I see some familiar names are cycling again and also some newbies. I agree after the whitewash of July, we are due lots of BFPs in August!

Nett Nett - so sorry to hear about your loss. That would be devastating. My thoughts are with you and your husband.

Vanilla - I hope your time out is going well. I unfollowed the boards and stepped back between this cycle and the last and must admit that I found that helpful.

Jaeh - it sounds like you've had a tough surgical time. I have ongoing chronic pain and this causes all sorts of problems with any surgery. I've found it really helpful to get a letter from my pain specialist for the anaesthetist for any surgeries. I tell them my history and they smile and nod, but then stuff it up. With a letter, usually they listen. So if you have any lingering issues and different surgical team, you might want to get a letter to relieve your anxieties, if you think that might help? Best wishes to you with the next steps.  Also with grades of embies they vary clinic to clinic, so best to ask your FS or scientiest. Embie grading is also very subjective and many babies have been born with lower grade embies. If you google your clinic and grading you might get an explanation, but might not. They won't freeze lower grade embies as they are unlikly to survive the thaw.

Elsee - I think we cycled very close togther last time. I hope you are recovering well from your lap and results are positive.

DCK - I've been on synarel and also cetrotide (injections). Other than a severe headache early on with synarel I was fine, so fingers crossed you are too. (I was only changed to cetrotide as there was a synarel shortage at the time.)

TCCC - best wishes with your TWW!

Mrs P - the first cycle is very exciting! Wishing you beginner's luck!

Pinki - I hope this cycle's timing works for you.

Prima - congrats on the frostie!

AFM - CD3 and hoping third time lucky. I've been having a tough time with all things IVF, but as my GP says its a marathon not a sprint!

Best wishes and baby dust to all, G.

Thanks Pinki and Gagingi.

Gagingi, hopefully this is the one for you!

MrsPrawn, how are you going with the injections? What are you on?

tccc- gonal and then orgalutran. doing them is not so bad, haven't really noticed any side effects yet.

Hi ladies,

FS appointment went well - on to IVF - got a whole lot of paperwork and information about how it works, risks etc, have to call the clinic tomorrow to set up appointments. Doc reckons it takes about a month to set up? Have to have police checks and child protection checks and mandatory counselling before treatment begins.

Posted 11 August 2015 - 07:20 PM

MrsPrawn, I found those two pretty good and didn't get any side effects at all. Good luck!

Shiv, sorry to hear you've had to move on to IVF but hopefully this will be the next step you need to make it all happen! It's quite a bit to go through just to get started huh?! Each state is different so I didn't have any mandatory counselling, but the rest still took ages! Good luck.

thanks TCCC!

id be really overwhelmed if it wasn't for google and these forums (ie: if that had been my first time hearing all that information about how ivf works etc)

Mrs P - I find the worst of the drugs is Crinone, so at CD5 I'm with you - no symptoms yet - yeah! Though I keep worrying that I'll forget an injection as I keep fogetting I'm cycling...  My tummy did pop-out CD3 (but that didn't happen the first cycle, just the last two). I'm also going for scan on Monday and it is exciting.  Are you gaining weight/fluid?

TCCC - when is your BT?

Shiv - you must be in Victoria? We so want to move to Melbourne, but are glad we missed the IVF paperwork. I think it is so wrong that you have to jump through extra hoops!  Hopefully once you get the police check and then your first cycle AF, it will all start happening a bit faster.  My first cycle I was so elated to have started.  A suggestion... it seems that we need to drive it.  Sometimes I hear ladies that are upset that it is going too slow, perhaps thinking that their FS and/or clinic will push more and they don't. I wished we'd pushed more in the earlier days, as we'd have got started sooner.  So, whilst being polite, I just keep on at them. I'm not usually a squeeky wheel, but I am with IVF.

AFM - I'm doing a uni assignment and keep forgetting I'm cycling.  That's a bonus, but having to explain my absences from uni and work is becoming rather tricky. Did get some good news today though - our appointment with our back-up local IVF guru can be brought forward if needed, so I'm very happy about that back-up plan.

Yes I'm in Victoria!
Glad to hear your appointment can be brought forward.
I've definitely learnt the value of being persistent with medical professionals during this "journey"

Gagingi, my BT is on 19 August. Still a long way away (today is 3dp5dt). And I hear ya - explaining an excuse to others gets really hard. But I'm still glad I haven't told many people.

Pinki: fingers crossed I think EPU alone without my DH would be scary. I hope his travel can fit in around the EPU for you, good luck.

Mrs P: congrats on AF! Yes it's very strange indeed in a very weird way, how we wait and pray for AF. Only in assisted conception do we worship AF in these strange ways.

Jaeh: agree with gagini embryo sorting in subjective to the clinic. We were advised ours were grade 2 or B but when we researched it, we found such a difference in the way they graded from clinic to clinic. So when I went back and asked they advised it was a good graded embryo which had not quite reached the top grading because it didn't yet have quiet enough cell divisions at that point in time. But otherwise looked good. So I suggest to ask the clinic your using to define the differences

Gagini: good luck with injections, hopefully your are close to the end of that marathon. In addition to finding excuses, my whole recent experiences have changed our minds on hiding it. We won't be finding excuses this time around we have decided. I no longer care what people think.

Shiv : welcome to the IVF path, I hope your wait is short. I'm not patient anymore, so would hate to be in VIC to go through the process.

AFM:  Thanks everybody for your kind words. We are moving forward, I am well on the path now to trying again. We have boxed up our memories and put them away for another day. GP appointment today for blood tests and ultrasound referral . 26 days till FS . Very impatient now :( very sick 8 year old who also has a GP appointment. I assume today is going to be a busy expensive kind of day.

Gagingi, welcome back. Wishing you all the best for this cycle and a BFP at the end! :)

NettNett, I like your approach to telling people. I wish I could hold that attitude! We have told key people close to us and I sometimes tell strangers (weird but it seems to be easier to talk about with people who don't know you).

Mrs Prawn, hope the injections are going smoothly.

Jaeh, Pinki and Kat, hope things are moving along smoothly for you guys.

Shiv, sorry you made it to IVF, but all the best with it. Hopefully it will be your answer. x

Vanilla, how are you doing? Did you find out if you need a lap?

TCCC and Prima, hope the wait is treating you well and those crazies are holding off!

AFM, had my results appointment with my FS this morning. Apart from the very mild endo I had removed during the lap, nothing else was found. Biopsy results were all clear. I'm not sure how I feel about this. It sounds strange, and I am very glad there's nothing bad happening, however I was sort of hoping they would find something that we could then fix, to give us a reason for all our troubles. But no, no reason yet. FS advice is just to keep trying....So, now waiting for AF to start in about a fortnight so we can prepare for our FET. It will be a natural FET, with progesterone support in the LP. Will be good to get going again. Hopefully that elusive BFP is just around the corner.

Elsee, that's great news, but I can imagine what you mean about wishing there was a reason for all of it. Good luck with your FET. So much waiting - before, after... Sheesh!

Keen as, that's great! I'll have my fingers crossed for you. Are you aiming for a 5dt? Hope you're feeling good.

Feeling impatient - can't book appointments until the FS completes the paperwork.  Might have called the clinic two days in a row and now feel I was being too pushy :)

Good luck Keen. Let us know how you go!

Shiv, I don't think that's being pushy. And even if it is, push to your heart's content!!

Hi ladies... :waves:

I think this is the right place for me- direct me elsewhere if I'm wrong... looks like we are about to start IVF next month/cycle all going to plan.

Had 3 failed IUI's last year, had a break and started naturopath and acupuncture hoping for a natural but no such luck.

We're in Melbourne too - but luckily we've jumped through all the hoops already when we did the IUI's and then after the 3rd one failed, we did the IVF appointments, so now it's just up to us.

I've just pushed this week for more tests - likely to be an endo scratch and maybe a lap (which I hope they will do later this week as I'm about to O and I've read they do the scratch about CD21), because I've never conceived so fear I have implantation issues etc.

Shiv I feel you! I was so impatient when we did the IUI's and got so frustrated with all the counselling and financial appointments, but at least once they are done you won't have to do it again.

Elsee I think I'd feel a bit frustrated too if they didn't find anything, but maybe the lap will be the trigger for your BFP! Fx!

Keen good luck!

hi ladies , hope you are enjoying your weekends. Has been a little cold and miserable here in newcastle. Great study weather for me tho!

Thanks for the info ladies on graded embyros i will look into it. Can anyone recommened a good site for me to look up so i can learn more about what to expect during the IVF, ICSI process. I dont find much on genea ( maybe im not looking in the right spot) im still trying to decipher the lingo used here!

shiv - we also have counsilling to do next week and meet the nurses they tell me about about a 3 hour process.

keen as mustard - well done on the egg collection, have you heard how things are coming along yet?

Mrsmoo welcome to the group, hope things go well for you , sounds like your searching for some answers and seems a good idea to be pushing for some more tests.

i have surgery on wednesday and am getting a little stressed/nervous about it. cant say im looking forward to it for the fourth time and last surgery 12 months ago was a little traumatic with a week spent in hosptial. Trying to be positive. hopefully we can jump this hurdle and prepare for the next hurdle (IVF).

Welcome Mrs Moo, How do you find acupuncture? I was thinking about it.

Keen all the for Monday, hope it goes swimmingly for you.

Hi Elsee, thanks for your kind words.  Hurry up AF so you can get ready for you FET.

AFM I am still on synarel.  It's still yuckky, the headaches have stopped but the taste in the back of my throat is feral.
I start my injections this week.  all else is good except I have a bit of fluid in my feet and ankles but I think that is from sitting on the couch candy crushing way too long :p

Take care lovely girls

Hi ladies

Well I'm back over here after my Aug 2WW was a bust, pretty gutted by it all but trying to move on and remain positive for the future.
Not sure where we go from here, I still have 3x 2d frosties but I am concerned about quality issues and worrying myself about "why it hasnt worked"..  I know it takes time and I need to keep trying, but I'm having a month "off" to think about my options.
1. Do another FET in Sept
2. Get the clinic to take all 3 remaining frosties through to blast stage and then transfer (if they make it)...  Then I think to myself but what if they dont make it??  And then I have to assume that doing a regular FET wouldnt have worked either so maybe this is the best option...argh!

I pretty much dont know what to do as you can probably tell - any thoughts??
Sorry for the long post.. hope everyone else here is going ok, and welcome to the new pple :)
xx T
