Great news THESMD!

I'm all go for EPU on Friday! Had a different doctor for this mornings scan and she thought it is worth carrying on. I have 3 good sized follicles and about 4 smaller ones. Trigger tonight.

Posted 30 September 2015 - 08:15 AM

Great Doris! Those smaller ones will most likely grow a bit with the trigger as well.

Hi Ladies,

I have been feeling a bit sore so laying low.

Thank you for all the lovely messages.

They got 32 eggs in the epu so there must have been some more follies hiding.

In bad news that means the fresh transfer this week is cancelled due to risk of OHSS.  Ive also elected for PGD so it might be I have to wait out the next cycle also for the results.  So at this point hoping for a transfer in Nov. Frustrating as the ivf doc who did epu said id only have to wait out this cycle but the next day the IVF nurse said no pgd is 3 weeks so they wont let you start a cycle until you have the results so that means missing the next one also.

Out of 32, 7 were immature so couldn't be used, and overnight 16 out of the 25 have fertilised so after the pgd hopefully we have a few left at the end of the day.

Am feeling pretty good again now but the first 2 days after epu was very average.

Waiting to speak to my FS about whether I try and regulate with the pill next month.

Doris - good luck the follies do grow a bit each day.

Good luck to all of you waiting at the moment, looking forward to hearing about some BFPs :)

Doris-good luck for your EPU.

i love the beach- sounds similar to my last stim cycle. its deflating when you have to wait.

AFM- went to my FS this morning, she explained the trial cycle thing and now im all for it. so hopefully af will arrive saturday, then clomid days 5-9 then US day 12 and gave been given prgnyl to trigger with as after i explained my natural cycle she said we will use pregnyl which should get me over the line. hopefully it all goes well and we can do a FET in Nov.

baby dust to all

Good luck today Tracey!

MrsP - so glad you got a proper explanation and are accepting of the process. So much of it all feels like a mystery it's great when you really know why we have to do the things we do.

Good today Tracey xx

Hi All,

Out of 32 eggs we are down to 9 on day 3.  They are all medium to highly fragmented so theres not much hope at all.

Because I had so many retrieved they wont let me do a fresh transfer and looks like in 2 days there wont be any to freeze so nada.

Seriously considering not trying again at all.

Best of luck to the rest of you xx

I'm so sorry to hear that Elly! How awful,  it's so hard to go through all that and then not get the outcome you wanted :(

Elly I'm so sorry to hear. This whole process is full of highs and lows and the lows are awful. Don't give up though. There is still lots of hope. As disappointing as it is, your FS will have learnt lots from the cycle. All first cycles are somewhat of an experiment because they aren't sure how your body will respond. Tweaks can be made for next time and hopefully you will see a different and better result. Hang in there! hugs. x

Good luck tomorrow Shiv and Doris.

Tracey, I hope today went well? x

Oh Elly, I'm so sorry to hear where you're at. Whilst it is discouraging, 32 eggs is a huge number.  I think they regard 15 as ideal, therefore maybe you were overstimulated and this has compromised quality? We all respond differently to the meds, so fingers crossed if you go again then they can tweak your stim cycle. xo

Has anybody done a long down reg cycle (I think that is what it is called)?  I think I forgot Synarel dose this morning and late dose was +6 hours. I'm rather worried. I'm at CD25, so I won't have ovulated, but I'm not sure what damage I might have done. I'll ring FS tomorrow. Anybody know? Thanks.

Posted 01 October 2015 - 10:07 PM

Elly - I'm sorry to hear, this cycle is not going well. Like the others said, your FS should tweak the next cycle and you should get better results.  Don't give up xx thinking of you xx

Gagingi - I'm on the long down reg. However, I've not missed a dose yet. I once missed a dose on a short cycle, so now i set a special meds alarm.  You're still in the down reg part so i think you'll be ok.

gangini you should call your fs about the synarel

Hi Ladies

Elly - sorry to hear that news, hope you are ok xx

Doris & Shiv - good luck for EPU today, let us know xx

AFM - well my transfer went well (very little discomfort this time, phew) and 1x "almost" blast was transferred.  Apparently it was compacted but not quite at blast stage yet - sorry I cant remember the correct terminology the scientist used.  I have one embryo that pretty much siezed at day 3, and the last one which is most likely going to be at blast stage today and ok to freeze, but need to call today for a quick update on that.  So all in all our gamble to take our 3 precious embys out to blast is so far so good.. My bloods are due on Mon 12th Oct so the wait now begins... dare I say 3rd time lucky??

Take care everyone xxx

Tracey - I'm so happy for you and relieved the transfer was comfortable. Let's hope it is third time lucky and a frostie blast as back up.

THESMD - you were right, when I rang the FS, they said all fine with the synarel as it was during down reg and I should just proceed as planned. I do use an alarm, but have been traveling, got distracted and turned it off rather than snoozing. I won't do that again!

Doris and Shiv - I hope your EPUs went well.

Posted 02 October 2015 - 10:40 AM

Gagingi - its easy to do when you're not in your usual routine.  When i missed my dose, i was driving up the coast for a weekend away, got two hours out before i realised I'd forgotten my meds that morning and that i hadn't packed them for the next day either.. that day turned into an 8 hr drive and a very unhappy DH..

Doris and Shiv - good luck with EPU.

Epu today - 21 eggs.  I'm worried it was too many and will compromise quality :(

Tracey, that all sounds very positive!

Shiv, 21 sounds amazing to me but because in at the other end of the spectrum with only 3 eggs retrieved today. Was your procedure ok?

My EPU was traumatic, excruciating and v bloody. Specialist had no idea why. Fingers crossed all our eggies fertilise overnight.

Oh no Doris! That's so awful!

Mine was ok - I've got period like pain now but otherwise ok.  Stomach still the size of a balloon!

Hi ladies,

Have any of you been through miscarriages before??

I'm 7 weeks today and had my first scan. The FS couldn't find a heartbeat and the size was smaller than should be around what it is should be 6 weeks 3 days.

It is looking like I'm going to miss carry. Apparently it takes a while for your body to react. I am still on progesterone too which slows down the reaction time.

I have a work trio from Sunday for a week to a third world country and therefore been told to continue the progesterone to prevent to miscarriage coming on.

I have another scan 12th October to confirm that the baby has died.

Just wanted to get an idea from anyone who has been through this so I know what to expect.

Emotional a are very raw.

I have 4 frosties but don't think I want to continue and will have time out and try naturally next year

Oh Buddkins, I'm so sorry to hear that. I cannot imagine what you must be going through, but wanted to reach out. There have been a few ladies on here who have had bubs with low size/no heartbeat at the first scan and they are still pregnant and progressing well. You might want to put a post up in the general AC section as well as that will reach a bigger audience. hugs. I hope DH is home with you. xo
