I’m am so sad and devastated to share that Rachel has passed away.
Her writing made such an impact on me. I am so sad there will be no more.

Deepest sympathy to her husband and small children.

May she rest in peace, and rise in glory.

My heart had just broken for this family. We’ve had a long ICU journey with a family member this past two weeks so somehow this all feels far too close.

Rachel’s work sounds like something I would find very helpful in my spiritual journey. I will pray for them and seek out her writing.

I have 'A Year of Biblical Womanhood' which is very funny, and compassionate.
So sad to hear that she is gone.  Her poor family they must be in such shock.

What an interesting and passionate mind!
I am not even a practicing Christian but looked at some of her week when stumbling across this thread.

The world will be poorer without her voice that seemed to be bridging the social divide of secularism and faith .

Yes, for all she was described as 'polarising' that wasn't her aim.  She was definitely someone who tried to 'draw a circle and take people in'.

How sad. Another reminder that I need to get a flu shot!

My goodness how sad. Such a young woman and such young children.

Just tragic.

How wrong that a gofundme has to be set up to pay for medical treatment.
I hope that is something her family does not have to worry about at so difficult a time.

I am crushed at the loss of Rachel Held Evans. I adored her writing, and I feel heartbroken for her family.
