Hi ladies,

In my previous due date communities I've been in we have done weekly updates. I found it a really good way to be able to stay focused and positive. I'm really struggling this pregnancy and I'm really feeling the need for it. What does everyone else think? It would be a questionnaire something like this:

How far along are you?

How are you feeling?

What symptoms are you experiencing?

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?

Any food cravings?

How's sleep?

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!

What are you looking forward to?

Any questions you want to ask?

I don't mind doing weekly updates Jameela, I don't have fb so I only use eb, happy to have a more active group..

As for the questions, I'm 15 weeks tomorrow. I found out my TSH levels are slightly elevated, and I have been started on 50mg thyroxine, worried but hoping all is well. Sleep has been good this week as I'm feeling better from my cold last week. I'm really really just wanting my 19-20 week scan to come, I hate having scans so far apart. It's my first baby, waiting for the first kicks ....food cravings- peri peri chips from nandos. Yum!

I'm happy to do updates, would also like a more active group :)
17w5d. Pregnancy wise I'm feeling great but still struggling with work and counting down the weeks til it's over! I am still tired a lot, but think I felt my first kicks the last couple days which is amazing! And a little belly is popping out which is my new favourite thing :D
I've had sweet cravings but that doesn't help my energy levels. Generally everything is much more normal at the moment. Sleeping well after weeks of insomnia! I'm just dying to finish work.
My first hospital appointment is tomorrow! No idea what to expect lol. Anyone?

MrsG, I'm sure things will be fine. It's good that they have caught the problem and are treating it. In the cases where it is a problem in sure it is when it's left untreated.

Alchetta, when do you finish work? I haven't had a hospital appointment for quite some time but I imagine it would be the usual urine sample, blood pressure taken, get weighed maybe, maybe a check of fundal height (although some don't check until later in the pregnancy) and maybe a search for baby's heartbeat plus a chat about your medical history etc.

As for me:

How far along are you? 15 weeks 1 day

How are you feeling? Absolutely exhausted and struggling. I'm stuck on the couch a lot of the time and getting so frustrated with the state of the house and the amount of work that needs doing that I have no energy to do.

What symptoms are you experiencing? Exhaustion, nausea, sore boobs, out of breath very quickly and the other day I had dizziness (think it was from dehydration), oh and rhinitis which I'm not sure if it's from pregnancy or hayfever or both.

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go? No. This is the slow period. Hanging out for my next midwife appointment on the 15th.

Any food cravings? Fish actually. I don't think I have ever craved fish but I've been wanting it for days so my beloved husband went and bought some fresh fish for me yesterday and I'm looking forward to having it today I hope. He's also going fishing today I think but I don't really expect he'll catch much. Mostly, I've not had cravings but rather it's a matter of finding something that doesn't make me feel sick.

How's sleep? Horrible! The rhinitis has meant I'm having incredibly disturbed sleep and combine it with discomfort and needing to change positions regularly it's not good at all. I've spent the last couple of nights in the recliner but also is still not good.

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week! I have to dig for something here. I think I may have felt baby movements which made me smile.

What are you looking forward to? Getting some energy and my next midwife appointment.

Any questions you want to ask? Not right now. Actually yes, has anyone found their fundal height? I keep looking for mine but it's really not easy. I'm not sure if it's because my uterus is so stretched already but my uterus certainly does not feel hard -it's all soft. I know where it was at 12-13 weeks when I had my last midwife appointment so I know in theory I should be able to feel it.

I had a dream my bub is a boy, I'm so sure it will be. My dreams are scarily good at guessing the gender of my and my friend's babies

MrsG2 I hope all is well. In sure it will be and good that it was quickly picked up.

Alchetta how exciting. I don't usually feel kicks until later on so I'm so jealous. One of the only bits I love about pregnancy.

Jameelah I haven't tried feeling for fungal height but I'm not very good at it anyway  I think 5th baby on my body is just doing what it wants. I'm already looking quite pregnant even though I'm not that far along really.

How far along are you?
15+1 weeks today

How are you feeling?
Not great but I'm also sick so not sure how much is pregnancy, how much is cold and how much is hayfever.

What symptoms are you experiencing?
Still nauseous though my fatigue has gotten a bit better (except today but that's the 1yo fault )

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?
Nope, haven't even had my booking in yet. Hoping I get my appointment soon otherwise I might have to call.

Any food cravings?
Meat (usually pescetarian), hot food and iced coffee

How's sleep?
Wasn't too bad until my baby girl and I got sick. Still lots of vivid dreams.

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!
Um not much haha. I don't find pregnancy very enjoyable generally until I can feel bub.

What are you looking forward to?
Feeling the kicks and my 20 week scan

Hi everyone - I am new to EB and due mid April, 2017 with our first baby!! Very excited :) Thought I'd join for support and to follow other peoples experiences.

How far along are you? 16 weeks, 4 days (estimate based on dating scan + OB predictions, by LMP and late ovulation/long cycles throws my dates out)

How are you feeling? Not pregnant?!! through the whole 1st and into the 2nd trimester I've had no morning sickness, no nausea, really nothing significant... even well beyond my 12 week NT scan, I still don't really feel pregnant.

What symptoms are you experiencing? Nothing...

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go? No, quiet time in between appointments.

Any food cravings? Nothing...

How's sleep? Sleep has been hit & miss - too many toilet breaks - up to 4 each night - making for disrupted sleep. I did buy a BellyBean maternity pillow which arrived yesterday and surprisingly slept quite well (and only 2 overnight toilet breaks!)

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!
Just getting excited, starting to grow a little and notice changes.

What are you looking forward to? I'm excited to have my belly start to show more so I look pregnant (not just flabby!), so I can wear cute maternity clothes and so this feels more real!

Hi all,

How far along are you?
14 weeks 5 days

How are you feeling?
some days I just don't feel pregnant! And other days I am short of breath and tired!

What symptoms are you experiencing?
Nothing too major, just short of breath and sore ribs and feeling exhausted at times. Occasional indigestion and reflux and still needing to go to the toilet more over night

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?
No, quiet time at the moment. Waiting patiently to see Ob on the 14th of this month.

Any food cravings?
They seem to vary from week to week. At the moment its custard, flavoured milk, white chocolate and ginger bread

How's sleep?
what's that?! Getting very little at the moment due to needing to go to the toilet frequently at night, usually every 2 hours!

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!
People are noticing how big my belly is getting which is making it more real. Also starting to think about what I will need to buy for bub which is a bit exciting

What are you looking forward to?
My appointment with Ob on the 14th and seeing a scan

Any questions you want to ask?
For those who already know sex of bub, has anyone started to buy anything for baby yet? When is everyone thinking of buying things? I am wanting to wait to at least 4 to 5 months but already seen things I like so I think I might not be able to wait that long

Ladies I need some reassurance here. I just found out that I have a UTI and need to take antibiotics. That in combination with finding out I also need thyroxine has made me a nervous mess- I don't care about me, I just want bub to be ok with all this :(

We found out we're having a girl... but we've been given so many clothes that I would feel silly buying anything until we can match up sizes/seasons and see what we're missing.
I've bought pram, pram bassinet, sleeping bassinet and that's it so far. Want to get a car seat but we're still torn about whether or not to get a capsule. I need to get a replacement bassinet mattress too.

I have crocheted a bunny rug style blanket which is nearly finished and I bought some Dr Seuss books which DH has been occasionally reading to my belly :)

I started buying stuff the day I found out the gender at the 3d scan!  I've got about 10 onesies, a set of cot sheets, some face washers and lots of nursery decorative items and storage already.  Parts of my extended family have chipped in to purchase a cot/change table set for us which we will be getting soon I believe.  I'm getting some sort of bassinet from a cousin, a high chair from another relative and possibly a porta cot from a friend.  We're actually quite surprised/overwhelmed at how willing everybody is to give us stuff, we had been saving for years and expected to pay for this stuff ourselves and had planned to buy a lot of stuff 2nd hand anyway so it's good now we can put a lot of that $$ towards saving for catholic school....

How far along are you? 18 and a bit weeks

How are you feeling? Pregnancy wise; great.  However am getting over a stuffy headcold and have had a bit of a funny tummy too.

What symptoms are you experiencing?  Dizziness, stuffy nose and the latest one is KICKING!!

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?  I've got a "midwife interview" (my first hospital appointment) next week.  Interview?!  As in, if I don't like them I pick another one?  Or are they going to quiz me on everything ever to do with my health and my expectations for birth?

Any food cravings?  Sweet potato (ironically, bub is the size of one right now apparently).  I've been putting it in everything.  I'd been having grilled cheese every day for months but i've gone a bit off it this week.  I keep thinking about buttery raisin toast for some reason but haven't had any... yet.  Actually, butter has been another staple so far.  If you put butter in front of me i'll slather it on without shame and i have seriously considered eating it straight but stopped myself....

How's sleep?  Now that my cold is on the mend, it's okay.  My pregnancy pillow is amazing but some nights my tailbone still hurts.

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!  Feeling kicks for the first time!!

What are you looking forward to?  Looking a lot more pregnant.  I've looked pregnant to ME since week 8, pregnant to my DH since week 12 and pregnant to other people.... only just starting to look it now but only to those who are actively looking for a bump.  In the (not my usual) GP's words the other day:  "oh, you're pregnant?  *looks at bump*  that wasn't immediately obvious"  and in the words of the butcher's wife "so, how many days along are you now?"

Any questions you want to ask? Kicks are meant to be randomly sporadic and few and far between to feel for now, right?

These are conditions that can be easily treated with medications but it's when they are left untreated that it can cause major problems. The good thing is that they are indeed being treated. I've taken antibiotics when pregnant before (usually for UTI -it's a common problem in pregnancy) and my children have suffered no adverse affects from it.

Know that it is not your fault that you have these conditions. Please don't let yourself feel guilty. The best thing you can do for your baby is to treat these conditions which is what you are doing.* Big hugs*

Yes, that is correct. When you first start feeling them you will only feel them occasionally and eventually it will build up to being something you feel regularly. Kicks are just the best thing.

    How far along are you?
18 weeks today - is it just me or is time flying by?

    How are you feeling?
Finally a bit more me! Less nausea and even managed a long walk today - the past few weeks the fatigue has just killed me some days.

    What symptoms are you experiencing?
Urgh reflux (on Zantac each night), very stuffy nose when trying to sleep - my husband woke this morning and said "Good Morning Darth!" (Meaning Darth Vadar)

Any Dr. appointments/ultrasounds/tests this past week and how did they go?
No no appointments the past week but I have my hospital booking in appointment this Wednesday, my Ob appointment on 14th and 19 week scan on the 15th - so excited to find out gender!! My Ob might tell me on his quick scan or I'll just have to wait till the next day to find out!

    Any food cravings?
Banana milkshake and was craving coco pops the other day but I didn't have any!

    How's sleep?
Pretty rubbish! Between waking myself snoring with stuffy blocked nose, reflux the leg cramps are threatening to start and I often just wake at random times WIDE AWAKE for no reason!

Tell us your favorite thing about your pregnancy this week!
Feeling the little kicks!  Hearing babies heartbeat on my Doppler I have at home - first time I've brought it out this pregnancy.

What are you looking forward to?
My 19 week scan - I go to a top place in Brisbane (QLD U/S for women) and they not only do a detailed scan but they take time at the end to capture some nice 3D pics/ 4D video for you where possible to keep. I am so excited to find out if I'm having a boy or girl so we can get organised choosing names and buying the few things we need.

Any questions you want to ask?
No questions - this is my 4th baby so I remember most things :)

Thanks ladies , my medications are category A and B, hopefully the issues resolve... I have my first hospital visit on Friday...what do they normally do? Do they ever do a quick scan to check on the baby? (Ps- I'm in Sydney going with RPAH)

    Posted 06 November 2016 - 07:48 PM

My first hospital visit said to allow 3 hours, but I was out of there in 45 minutes. I'm at the RWH in Melbourne but it was medical history, family history, going through all your blood test results (take all these with you plus any scan results you have), asking questions about medication/diet/nutrition/whether you conceived naturally or assisted, etc. Gave me a booklet about giving birth at the RWH and told me which classes to sign up for if I wanted (childbirth education and hospital tour for example), let me know when to come back and that I could come in at any point if I had any concerns. They talked me through my options for a midwife (I'm public) so I signed up to get into the COSMOS caseload midwife program (to get my own midwife) so I'm on a waiting list for that as I'm comfortable seeing my existing GP in the interim - she's a shared care GP so I'm getting a lot of extra care anyway.
They took my blood pressure and checked baby's heartbeat with the doppler. Showed me the best way to get in and out of bed so I don't pull any muscles as I get further along
I'm 18 weeks now and am due to go back after my 20 week ultrasound which is taken separately.
I was most reassured as both the staff I met were absolutely lovely :)

Oh and I'm finishing work at the end of Feb. When is everyone else planning to start mat leave? I'm taking the six weeks my employer recommends... it's my first bub so last chance to be alone and enjoy 'me time' hehehe.

I'm a relief teacher so I'm fairly casual at the moment anyway... and I'll have a very quiet Summer over the school holidays.  I intend to teach a little in January and February and see how I go.  I don't think I'll work in March.  I'd be too worried about going into labour on the job.

alchetta I've already finished up at work. I was teaching Pole Dancing Fitness classes so not really recommended whilst pregnant

scotsmum I feel like this pregnancy is going faster than any of my previous ones. I think maybe because my fourth child is still so reliant on me that I'm okay with waiting awhile to meet this bub.
