Hi fellow June 2017 Mums!!

I had my blood test on Monday after my first IVF cycle. My 4w2d level was 500 and my Dr was pretty happy. He given me an EDD of 03/06. I am SO excited for the adventure ahead :) And also very tired today hahahaha

This is out first KJI. Everything is so new and exciting (and scary!)

I'm sorry to hear of your difficult journey so far EJ79 - I have my FX for third time lucky for you!

Ejdonn, having been through this a couple of times, do you have any guidance on when I can expect to worry to lessen? I just feel like I spend a lot of time worrying about all the things that can go wrong!

Looks like I'm here too:) After a MC in July, I'm a bit cautious but my HCG levels were so far beyond last time that I'm feeling hopeful. It's #1 for us and I'm 38, my partner is 41.. We said we're trying to keep our excitement under control until after the first scan but that didn't stop him from opening a bottle of wine last night to celebrate. Good for him, haha.
Have you told anyone?

Hi Terfl,
Sorry to hear of your MC. FX for this pregnancy! I am so fearful of MC, we all invest so much of our heart into this, I'm not sure how I would cope.
We have only told a few people that our test was positive. We went through the IVF process and we thought it fair to tell the few people who knew we'd had a transfer rather than leave them wondering. I am interested to hear when others plan to share their happy news.

Yay terfl! Welcome :) we are the same in the 'don't get too excited before the scan' boat, especially when you've had a mc. But we can't help ourselves. We're already talking about pregnancy milestones, how we'll tell ppl etc. A part of me is so anxious and doesn't want to get too emotionally invested before our dating scan but the other part of me doesn't want to deny myself the joy of early pregnancy for the first 3 weeks. I'm so glad you ladies are here to talk to and support each other.

Kris there's a couple of close friends (and my mum) that know we were trying. We didn't want to tell too many ppl so we could keep it a big surprise when we finally were pregnant. We told a close married couple with their own kids that we were PG last time and they were really supportive when we lost that one. So I think we'll tell them again this time. My mum already knows but so far that's it. No other family/ friends. I'll have to tell my work friend soon too because she knows we were trying and if I'm suddenly sick with ms she'll have to cover for me lol. I'll stop there tho until we've had our scan

We've only told one person so far - a friend of mine who's going through IVF and she got her first BFP 2 weeks ago so we're both extremely excited! I presume she's told her hubby so they're the only 2 people who know.
With our history we wont be telling people for a while I think.
Roll on the 25th Oct for our scan :)

I'd told my boss about the MC as I had to take a few days off, he was very understanding and now he obviously knows that we're TTC. Last week I worked from home on Friday when i went for the blood test, so I told him why but I laid it out quite negative, saying it was likely something was wrong. He hasn't asked me about it so I'm just not going to say anything until it comes up.
Apart from that 2 close friends know and one other girl at work. I find it helpful if someone at work knows as they can cover for me at times. However, I've got a client lunch on Friday and it's to celebrate a big project we just finished. It's only 3 people, very intimate - my colleague who knows, the client and I. It's meant to be boozy, there is no hiding that I'm not drinking. I've got a great relationship with the client but I'm not sure I want to tell her yet. What to do?

Hello everyone,

I've just joined EB (after lurking for a while for a while!) after getting my BFP last Friday for my second baby, due 3/6. I have a 2 year old son already. We've been trying for 8 months for this baby so very excited!

My bloods on Friday were only at 61 HcG, so rechecking this week, but I was very close to implantation when I had the first lot done, so hoping it's all okay!

Welcome and congrats O&J! Try not to worry about your HCG.....mine was 54 last Monday and 1687 by Thursday. Good luck with your second test this week :-)

Terfl can you use the ole anti-biotic line? Or say you're going out for dinner that evening and have to drive so can't drink?

Welcome O&J! Have you retested your HCG yet?

Yeah EJ, I might do that. I've also thought if I should blame headaches - which isn't even a lie as I've had them for 3 days now - and then maybe order a cocktail to start with but sneakily tell the waiter to make it without alcohol. Bit risky but it's the kind of lunch they would have postponed if they knew I couldn't drink today.

How is everyone feeling? I've been so exhausted and tired, the headaches aren't helping and unfortunately i can't take my migraine tablets. Oh and my boobs started hurting and I'm sleeping in my bra. I'm also pretty bloated but luckily I've got a ton of really boxy dresses that make it easy to hide my big belly.

Are you exercising at all? After my MC in July I went back to the gym and did group classes almost every day. I was determined to keep it up but I've got no energy and I'm a bit worried as my brown spotting last week started after going for a run.. My doctor said to take it easy and maybe not do anything for now to not have me worried every time. I think I'll go to Pilates tomorrow though, I need to do something...

And my last point for today: have you decided if you go public or private? Because of my age and my constant worrying I'll be going private and my heavily pregnant GP gave me a referral to her OB for the time being but said I should do my own research and let her know if i needed another referral. Today is her last day before maternity leave so I panicked a bit last night when i realised I hadn't looked into it at all. I've now chosen someone nearer where i live, I think that's just going to be much easier later on. Have you thought about this kind of stuff at all? It feels a but early having to make these decisions at this stage.
Will also try to book my dating scan for around Oct 19th. That's a day shy of 8 wks. I've got a work event on the 18th and thought if something is wrong I wouldn't want to go to work for a few days but i know it will be pretty busy before the event.

Happy Friday to you all!

Hi Terfl

Blaming headaches is a good one. As is the sneaky mocktail. I'm sorry you've been getting headaches. Especially when there's not much you can do to fix them.

I'm just really tired still, bloated and I can tell my digestion has slowed right down. I'm not very hungry and I'm usually always hungry. My boobs are on and off slightly tender but nothing bad at the moment. My main worry is how much I'm stressing out that something will be wrong at the scan or my next bloods. I'm trying to keep positive but the anxiety is always there.

I rejoined the gym a month or so ago and I'm not sure what exercises I should be doing to minimise impact on bubs. I might ask my gp on Tuesday and the PT at the gym for advice.

I'm going private too. I have the PHI and, because it's my first baby I just want to have the extra care when I'm so anxious and have no idea what I'm doing. But I'm one of those overly organised people that's planned their OB, hospital and every other detail before I was even pregnant. It helped me feel like I was on the way to pg when TTC was taking a longer time than expected.

Hi June ladies,

I got a faint bfp on Wednesday, and a stronger one today. I will most likely be due in July though, as I have looong pregnancies. This will be my third child. I have a dd 5 years and a ds 2 1/2 years old.

I plan to book an appointment next week when my dd is at kindy. If I take her she will blab to everyone lol.

I have no real symptoms yet, just a bit tired. But I am also getting over a nasty flu so I am not sure if it's due to that.

I will go private as I have done previously. I am not sure if I want to go to obgyn or a mid wife lead program. I plan to ask my gp about my options.

Terfl could you order a fancy mocktail and pretend it's a cocktail?

Congrats on the BFP Shirley Sue!!

Hey Terfl,
I hope your lunch goes smoothly today and there's no awkward questions etc :)

The exhaustion kicked in for me yesterday - big time! It doesn't help that another symptom seems to be waking up super-early (usually 4am) and not being able to get back to sleep. Frustrating! I am also suffering from a very sensitive sense of smell - not so good on neighbourhood rubbish day - and really sore, ever-growing boobs. It might be worse because I am on estrogen and progesterone support but all I know is not only have I had to fork out for those meds but now I've already had to hit up Hotmilk for some new bras :no2:
But, it's all part of the process that I have wanted for so long so I am a bit hesitant to complain too much!

I have struggled with the exercise thing. The whole reason I ended up needing IVF was because of HA which came about from over-exercise. A few months ago I had to give up my beloved running and I have been mourning it since. I replaced it with Barre workouts and walking and luckily I have found plenty of pre-natal versions of these because my Dr was very stern about not doing anything too strenuous due to risk of ovary contorsion when undergoing treatment. Needless to say, I have managed to gain ten kilos since starting IVF between the meds, the bloating and the comfort eating... Now all I want to do is run it away!!

I have PHI but I got it mainly for the fertility treatments. I am considering switching back to a basic package and mucking in with the public system - it's pretty good where I live.

I had periods of sleep insomnia with both previous pregnancies. I expect the same this time.

I don't exercise, I chase toddlers lol.

Hi ladies, might jump in here. I had my BFP confirmed on Wednesday after five rounds of IVF/ICSI. HCG was 453 on Wed and today it's around 1700. This is my first ever pregnancy so I'm a little weary of the possibility of a MC. My due date is 6/6/17, so excited!

Hey yenta! Congrats on the BFP! I have been lurking around on the AC Buddy Groups page and saw your exciting news. I have also just gotten my BFP after an FET with IVF. And just like you, I am worried about MC and all the other fears that come with this journey. Hopefully we can all support each other :)

Thanks kris, mine was a FET as well. It feels like such a blessing after going through the trials & tribulations of IVF to get here. Fx everything goes well for us and everyone else with BFPs :)

Congratulations Yenta and Shirley Sue, welcome to the group!

My lunch cover up was a complete failure, haha. As soon as my client realised i was drinking a mocktail the cat was out of the bag. The other thing was that half the menu was raw fish and it was meant for sharing... disaster!
I had called an OB this morning but couldn't get through, i didn't even leave a message but they called me back this afternoon anyway and were super sweet. The receptionist said they wouldn't normally see anyone until 10 weeks but because of my MC she would book me in earlier and the Dr would perform the dating scan which means money saved! She also said to come in straight away if I'm worried about anything, which made me feel a lot better as my GP is now on maternity leave.
I realised this morning that 9 months is a verrrrry long time, haha. So much time for worrying..
Kris3028, I've got the sleep thing too - not as early as you though but cannot sleep past 5.30 am...

Hi everyone :) Thought I might just join here - I got my BFP on Wednesday, and had bloods done later that day - hCG was only 50 but the doctor didn't suggest follow up bloods at all. I do have a referral for a scan though because I've already been having a bit of ms and twins run in my family. I haven't rung up to get an appointment yet though because it's a public holiday in Vic today :( We've been TTC for 12 months (13 cycles) and I was in the middle of partaking in a weight loss medical study when I got pregnant (whoops!). This is #2 for us, have an 18 month old little boy :) I've also been pretty tired and having on and off ms since Monday!

We've already told MIL & FIL, SIL & BIL, 2 BFFs & their hubbies, and my mum. Had to tell all of those because they knew about my weight loss study and as soon as I started eating normal food again (coz I was on meal replacement stuff during the study) they were totally suss.

Terfl - sorry to hear that your lunch cover up failed ahaha :) you tried though!

Hi Terfl, HCG is all good! Hopefully everything keeps going well! Sorry your lunch didn't go well!

Congrats to everyone else too! Especially those who've had a long journey or with IVF.

I'm going private again, I went private for my first pregnancy and (although expensive) had a good experience. The public hospital I'm zoned for isn't great.

My biggest complaint so far is indigestion, which is a bit uncomfortable. No nausea so far - hoping the morning sickness stays away this time, I had an awful time last pregnancy!
