Thanks Furbaby and Lexi.... I am thinking actually it could be AF too, they did warn me that AF was likely to be worse. As a poor responder I was on a hell of a lot of meds.

I'll call my nurse in the morning.

JessieT - Goodluck I hope all goes well after transfer, i have everything crossed for you.

Jellyblush - How did everything go with your transfer? Goodluck i hope this one works for you. Sorry about the other emby.

Shally268 - So sorry Shally. Understandable you wanting to stay away, keep yourself well. Thinking of you, its so tough getting that news.

Ksout - I hope you can get some answers. I would ask anything and everything you have a thought about. No information is ever too much.

Sorry if i have missed anyone, i went back to the start of this new thread to try catch up. I was meaning to keep up since my last post but i think i have just dove head first into the cycle and been in a zone.

AFM - I had egg collection last Monday at which time we got 17 eggs.. i called the following day to find that 13 were mature and of that 9 had fertalised... day 3 only one was at 8 cells and the remaining 8 were at 2-5 cells anyway thats what i was expecting, had transfer yesterday with our only one blast to make it, the scientist did say they would check the rest today to see if they had continued but i highly doubt any will of even made it. So fingers crossed that my one little worrier onboard makes it all the way to next August. Its so hard to not get your hopes up but the thought of having a tiny human on board just makes my heart melt... must keep a level head. Bloods will be Monday week so all i can do now is wait and TRY keep my mind off it.

Hey Shally,

We switched FS as the previous one was too conservative with doses. Changed from menopur/gonal-f mix to all gonal-f and added luveris for quality.

Actually ended up with 11 blasts but we had them tested and two were discarded with chromosome abnormalities. So ya that cycle was much better Posted Image

Hopefully your next cycle you get much better results just make sure your FS is willing to look into discussing next options to improve your chances Posted Image

I saw my fertility specialist yesterday and she has suggested a flare/boost cycle next time - with Gonal F and Synarel. I hope this gets us better results (more eggs). FX.

How are you ladies going? It is awfully quiet in here...

Yeah, it is quiet. I think, like someone suggested, lots of clinic shut down over the break or people go away. I know that, based on my last cycle, I would have been struggling to squeeze another FET before we go on holiday (Sunday). So looking forward to getting away with DH.

We had a bit of a teary moment together in the car, listening to White Wine in the Sun - it reminds me of the first Christmas after my my mum died and then we were both a bit weepy as we had hoped to be pregnant this Christmas. I suppose it'll be a bit bitter-sweet for everyone!

Super quiet around here at the moment with clinic shutdowns and all.

I went and had my endo scratch/biopsy yesterday morning. OM*G it hurt! I expected a bit of discomfort but not cramping and spotting for the rest of the day. It was almost as bad as after epu. The first biopsy he took wasn't enough tissue so he went back in a second time and was way more aggressive getting a sample. I think that's why I might have been in so much pain. I almost squeezed the nurse's hand off haha.

He's hoping for 3 outcomes, one of which will be to hopefully have an answer to the NK cells so we know if I need to be on the steroids for the FET next month, secondly it will tell him the condition of my lining and thirdly he's hoping the scratch will boost our chances of success based on the latest research.

I'm hoping to get my results tomorrow when I go to the clinic to pick up my meds. I realised this morning that my FET isn't too far away actually. I'm on the pill until the 10th at which point I'll only be about a week into a new month of it (sugar pills start early next week for this month) so I'm hoping that will be enough to give me a bleed so I can kick off the menopur and start tracking for the transfer.

Very exciting. Hubby and I are both ready to have it over and done with. He's stressing about money as he hasn't had any work for a couple of weeks now with our new business, so he's panicking about how will we afford a baby etc if the transfer works. I tried telling him that we already have pretty much everything we need for the first year short of buying a pram. We have it all second hand already stored with family and at home. I tried telling him my concerns were more about when I go back to work and we have daycare fees on top of all the normal bills. I think I was able to reassure him a bit but it's hard knowing he's stressing.

Soul - do you have your BT tomorrow? FX for a good result if so. How are you feeling?

ksout - the endo scratch sounds ouchies! I know of a few people who've had them and they sound very unpleasant so I hope it was worthwhile and you get the info you're after :)

We saw the FS on Friday and he said in the nicest possible way that it is only worth us doing one more cycle. He always said he'd tell us when he thought we would be wasting our money to continue and I guess we've hit that stage. We'll do one more fresh cycle next year, probably around March/April and hope we get enough embies to have a few transfers.

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and can manage to have a bit of time away from all this sh*t and just relax. 2017 is going to be a good year for everyone, I can feel it :)

Hard conversation to have Jo. But thank goodness he is being realistic. And fingers crossed for a successful round next year.

That's a very hard talk to have with the FS I would imagine Jo. On the plus side, at least he's being honest with you. Fingers crossed your next attempt will be a success.

Yeah the scratch was definitely painful. I picked up my meds on friday and he's switched me to gonalF with pregnyl trigger and the other ones weren't on PBS for a FET apparently. So they're all in the fridge chilling out for next month. I got progesterone pessaries that have to be kept in the fridge too which I haven't had before.

Still no results from the biopsy yet but my nurse said it will probably be this week if not in the new year when they reopen. Hopefully it won't take that long though. I don't want to go through Christmas with not knowing hanging over our heads.

Merry Christmas ladies and see you all in the New Year :)

Hi Jo, I'm expecting the same conversation on Thursday when I see my FS.   I am trying to prepare myself as best I can but it's hard. I hope you enjoy Christmas, New Years and a couple of sunny months of not being caught up in IVF.

Ksout that sounds super painful!

I am BFN for this month, trying to decide if I have it in me to do another cycle, this one was so hard. and if not, then whether to take all my owed leave and take a couple of months off to try to come to terms with letting go of this dream. I can't imagine a fulfilling life without children, grandchildren.

Just wanted to wish everyone a fertile new year. I hope we all get the news we've been waiting for for so long.

I've been pretty absent from this board for a while and will be keeping away for a while too. I need some head space from ttc until we start with a new clinic. Not sure when that will be. It's too hard to always be reminded of what we don't have, especially at this time of year. Wishing you all the best x

Hi Ladies

Had my first injection today after a few years off! Bringing back so many memories although not as scary this time round (needles).

New year new opportunities. Wishing BFP for everyone this year!

Thanks Rain. Thinking of you!

Hope everything goes well for you Kel. Are you trying for bub#2 or coming back after a break?

Hi baking101

Yes trying for number 2.

Has anyone had their egg collection under a local?

#45 baking101

Posted 05 January 2017 - 11:05 AM

I didn't Kel. I had a not so great experience with a general earlier this year for an unrelated op. Asked for local but they recommended against. However, I found that the general was fine because it was short, so I had no ill effects (aside from sleepiness).

Congratulations Soul!

Kel I haven't had it done under local or general. My clinic give you a couple of valium and some panadeine forte and it's not that bad actually. It feels a bit pinchy while they're pulling the eggs out but after it's just an achy heavy tummy for a couple days.

AFM killing time at the moment until next week when I stop the pill on the 10th. Hopefuly AF will arrive around the 15th and I'll start my gonal-F injections the next day for our FET. Cycle number 5 and here's hoping it works for our last try.

HI ladies

Jumping in if you don't mind, as the over 40 IVF/ICSI buddy group is pretty quiet.

Started my meds and had a scan today for a FET with a donor embryo. Looking at transfer some time between the 20th and 23rd.

Hi Bella and all the very best for your upcoming FET.

Our board is super quiet ATM. Seems like a bunch of ladies graduated during November and most of the rest of us had a break over Christmas after failed attempts.

Hopefully your tracking works perfectly!

Had my scan today and will hav egg collection Friday. Feeling very bloated, hoping it's a good sign.

Good luck Bella
