Hope everything goes smoothly Kel. Have lots of fun movies stocked up and hopefully rest in air-con comfort! Hope the discomfort is not too strong.

AFM, I think I am FINALLY getting AF. I normally have a long cycle but ICSI/the meds have mucked me around. CD1 for me was 24/11, so it is somewhat comforting to know my bits are still trying to work. We will do out next FET after my next period, so probably around Easter the rate I am going ;-)

Hope everyone else is travelling ok.

Baking - yay for AF! Hopefully you get to your FET a bit earlier than Easter ;)

Kel - good luck tomorrow. You can still use heat packs too until the embryos go back in and they are great for tummy pain so plonk yourself somewhere comfy and rest up :)

AFM - whole lot of nothing for the next few months. By the time we go again you guys will hopefully all have moved on to DIG's :)

Hi All,

Hope it's OK for me to join (hey Jo!) - I'm about to start on the IVF train again, after our little miracle from IVF 2 years ago. Reading through this thread brings back so many memories, my heart goes out to you all, this is the hardest thing. All I can say is I hope you're all treating yourselves and being super kind to yourselves, never forget how tough this is and how brave you're being.

We had 4 frosties from our last stint into IVF so I'm getting a nicer intro back into it, trying to think positively but also not get my hopes up.. that's possible right?!

Blood tests next week and if alls good a transfer in about 2 weeks - as always I don't feel like I've been healthy enough, I'm not slim enough, not relaxed enough.. yada yada.

Hope I can offer some support and help to all you heroes, it'll be great to have some buds along for the ride xxxx

Hi there E-agogo. Glad to read that you've been successful through this process. It's rugged, that's for sure. I hope the tracking goes smoothly and you don't have to wait too long for the FET.

AFM. DH and I have decided that we will go ahead with our next FET after AF arrives. We were going to wait until after my Feb AF but, seeing as I am on day 57 of this cycle, we just don't want to wait until end of March to get going again. TMI but I have been spotting for more than a week but today AF seems a little bit more inclined to properly arrive. Just a waiting game now in terms of it arriving and then finding out what FS would like us to do in terms of tracking. I think I will be on low dose Gonal from the start but who knows? I'll just wait and see what they think is best.

How is everyone else going? Kel, how did you go with your EPU?

Hi ladies, transfer done... now the waiting, and more mind games, begins.

FX indeed Bella! Hope it is a not-too-hard 2 weeks!

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining again? I was here around 2 years ago. My DH and I got our little miracle man Jan last year after a very very eventful 8 month pregnancy.  Our DS is now 12 months old and we are starting again in twoish weeks. We have one frostie left so everything is crossed this works for us otherwise it's back to the drawing board and Satan's Tears all over again :) Anyway I am panicking I have not prepared myself or my body enough. Anyway just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone.

Hello everyone, and welcome trying again, Bella Laird, Embryo Agogo!

Last cycle was terrible for me, and I've been keeping away from these forums but now we're ready for a new year and another try. Maybe we will be lucky this third time around. We picked up the meds yesterday and I'll be doing a boost cycle once AF arrives in February. Gonal F and Synarel. Has anyone here done a boost cycle before?

Hi again Shally. Fingers crossed for this round.

I went for bloods today and have been put on Provera to kick start my period as it hasn't arrived and I believe I am up to day 59 or something equally ridiculous...I've stopped counting!

Thanks baking :)

Gosh, 59 days is crazy! I hope the Provera kicks things into action. Here's to hoping AF comes asap for you.

Hi everyone,

Hope its okay or me to join in on this thread. I'm on my second cycle of IVF after a failed November attempt: only 1 egg and it didn't make it to fertilisation.

This time I had two eggs, one didn't make it and the other was transferred on Day 3. Im no3 half way through my 2WW. I started off quite positive but am not so anymore. I am having no symptoms whatsoever and my normal pre AF symptoms are showing up.

Hope you're all going stronger than I am!

#63 baking101

Posted 26 January 2017 - 08:29 PM

Hi Birdie. The 2nd half of the TWW is just awful, particularly because nearly every early pregnancy symptom is also a pre-curser for AF. I'm not going to say stay positive, but I will say be very gentle with yourself as you ride the positive and negative waves as they come. FX for a BFP for you. When is your BT?

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Good luck Bella! I remember cheering myself up with the idea of PUPO - Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise - made me feel like I was at least making some progress - so congrats on being PUPO! Long may it last!!

Welcome Birdie - hope you're ok, you're at the very worst stage of the 2WW, the part where you *actually* feel like you're losing it. If it's any help, in my three years of intense symptom spotting and googling, there is just zero correlation between how you feel at this stage and the result on the day - so many people have AF symptoms, no symptoms, new symptoms... Keep soldiering on, you're doing great xxxx

Tryingagain - you and me are in the exact same boat! I feel like I need 6 months at a yoga detox retreat before I put that precious frostie in there!! Literally, I got my BFP whilst on a career break after a 3 day silent meditation retreat and months without booze.. so I'm quite superstitious now!! Pretty opposite to my life right now

Big hug Shally, I've not done a boost cycle but I think Jo did, hope you get on with the drugs OK - I always got perversely excited when I got new drugs, like I had the answer I guess. Hope you're feeling positive, it's such a numbers game. One of my friends did NINE.TEEN. full cycles (with a happy ending) and I just can't imagine how she did it. Blows my mind.

Thank you Baking! Ugh to a 59 day cycle, do you tend to get these long cycles? How to make IVF even harder and more unpredictable hey.

AFM, bloods tomorrow. Lets get this show on the road! :omg:

#65 baking101

Posted 26 January 2017 - 08:52 PM

Good luck with bloods tomorrow E-agogo!!

I usually have 30-35 day cycles but since doing our first round, things have been very muddled up. On day 3/5 of Provera which should bring on AF. As day one of term is on Monday for my school, history shows CD1 will be then...I am totally ok if it is...just want this show on the road.

#66 Birdie11

Thank you E-Agogo!! You all seem to know your fertility treatments, that's for sure. All the abbreviations and fertility treatment jargon- I'm lost. What is a boost cycle?

Also, is there a list somewhere of what the abbreviations stand for ?

My BT is Tuesday - My first official day as a teacher and I have casual work at the local primary. I hope I can concentrate enough to do a good job of it.  Baking... are oh a teacher also?

#67 baking101

Posted 26 January 2017 - 10:01 PM

Birdie the jargon is confusing! There is a pinned thread in the assisted conception area. I found it most helpful. Still cringe at BD (baby dance...surely there is a useful 3 letter word we could use ;-))

I'm in school leadership - primary teacher but it'll be my first year not having a class and doing a new role. I'm very excited!!! I'm sure you'll be great on Tuesday. I always find that the kids are a fabulous distraction!

#68 Birdie11

Posted 27 January 2017 - 06:38 AM

Thanks baking! I'll have a look at the jargon list, I may need to save the page as a reference tool because I'm sure I won't remember all of it. Hah! And yes I did notice BD. I initially thought it stood for bed down - hilarious.

Wow that sounds exciting! Congratulations on your first year in the leadership role. I feel like I would have loved to make it to that kind of role one day but fear I started too late. I've just finished Uni after starting my degree at 30. I've been a nanny for 15 years- secretly hoping this will give me a bit of an edge- so this is my first year as a new grad casual.

Feeling sad today as I am having some cramping.

Hello and welcome Birdie :) Hang in there, only a few more days until your BT.

Here is what my fertility specialist explained to me about boost cycles - she said that basically on day 2 of my period I will start to take Synarel nasal spray to 'boost' follicle growth hopefully. I am a slow responder, which means that I don't respond very well to the meds and my follicles don't grow. My first cycle, I only had 4 large follicles and got 3 eggs fertilised (of which only 2 made it to day 3), and my second cycle I only had 3 large follicles and got 2 eggs fertilised and none of them made it to day 3 :(

My FS said that at my age I should have around 15 eggs so I'm quite a bit behind, and she doesn't know why this is not working so she is going to try a different cycle this time. I hope it works.

EmbryoAgogo, wow, I cannot imagine doing 19 cycles! That is so very brave of her. All the best for your BT today.

#70 Birdie11

Posted 27 January 2017 - 08:40 AM

Shally- aww I will cross everything for you. I had synarel but only as a trigger med (4 puffs). I am like you. On both cycles I have had only  5 follicles. The first cycle produced one egg that didn't make it to fertilization and this current cycle produced two eggs. One made it to 3 day ember transfer and the other didn't make it. So I understand your frustration at such small numbers. Especially when some people are getting 10-15! It's a trial to keep faith sometimes Isn't it?!

Good luck with blood test EmbryoAgogo.

Hi ladies,

It's been a while since I've done this so hope I'm joining the right BG!

I just called my clinic yesterday afternoon to advise I'd like to proceed with a FET. My first BT to track my cycle will be this Monday morning. I think I am CD8 or 9 today.

Very nervous!

I wish you all well on your journeys and am grateful to be able to share mine with all of you. xx

Thanks all! Apparently my oestrogen was low and back for more bloods on Monday. I've just started back at work so this is going to be interesting to balance all the appointments without it being suspicious.. ah well, somehow it all works out doesn't it! Worst case, they'll think I'm flaky, and I can cope with that.

Haha baking, AF tends to come at inopportune times for me too. FX it comes for you bang on time!

Bed Down Birdie - too funny! DTD is another one - Do The Deed. Or I like to read it as Do The Dirty haha! Why we can't say sex I'm not too sure!! How are you going today? Hope you're keeping sane xxx

Welcome b02rn2love - you and I will be on very similar schedules, I'm on cd 11 and starting a FET also. Best of luck to us!! How many embryos do you have stored?

Have a good weekend everyone xx

Hi Birdie.

here's a list of all the acronyms. They are confusing at first but you'll get the hang of them pretty quickly :) Good luck with your cycle x

http://www.essential...ationsacronyms/

Embie - I am a notoriously slow starter too. My last FET was medicated and it still took 19 days of injections before my hormone levels were high enough for transfer.. sigh. Hopefully everything kicks into gear for you soon x

Shally - good luck with the boost cycle. I've heard of them but not known anyone that did one so I'm keen to see how you go. Hopefully it's the change you've needed and it does the trick :)

Hi to everyone else :)

I am doing alright today. After a full day of crazy pain yesterday, still no AF and pain has subsided. So I have NFI  what is going on. AF due tomorrow πŸ˜•

I don't know how you guys do this and still hold down a job. Lucky for me I only work casual so I don't have to worry about work interruptions. Kudos to all of you with a full time job.

Hi ladies,

An update on us. We had our pick up under local which wasn't  too bad, not as bad as I was imaging 😳 anyway. They got 19 out which is my highest numbers yet, only 11 fertilised and 3 made it blastocyst. They didn't do a transfer as I was high risk of overstimulation so will do when I next get AF. We are off on a cruise on Saturday for 14 days so works out ok anyway (least I'll be able to have some drinks now πŸ˜†) will take my medications with me just incase AF starts just before the end of cruise. Getting so excited about it all so hoping all goes well.

Good luck ladies sending out BFP vibes to everyone!!

Kel
